I used to be in Amway and Quixtar. I never found either one to be a scam. It's not for me anymore. But I have learned a great deal from it. For one thing the education system is awesome especially for folks who always thought they were destined to stay in the rut and the ghetto as generations of them have done.
In order for you to call it a scam you need to join and then do your research. But you really don't have all the facts when you post links of some disgruntals website because for each disgruntal there is is at least 2 who can say they benefited from being associated with Amway at some point in their life.
Here are some of the things I got out of being in there.
- Overcoming fear
- Goal setting
- Posibility thinking,
- Keeping the dream alive
- Handling objections
- I learn a lot abo-ut building an organization
- Motivating individuals
- motivating an organization
- giving speaches
- speaking in front of a large and small crowd.
- selling
- Leadership
- edification
too much to mention
For folks in countries like China, Rusia and lots of 3rd world country
- All the stuff I have above
- Free Enterprise
- The American Dream
So much more ....
Here is a true scam if you Lotto. You put your money in and you get nothing out of it.
With Amway or Quixtar you get a pruduct or service when you put your money in. Every thing is refundable.
Here is something that's filled with scam artists yet we all join it faithfully: The stock market
Take some time to daytrade with real money and follow the news Blooomberg, CNBC while you do it and see how quickly you figure out that you will be scammed till you go completely broke. For instance: They say there is a law in economics called supply and demand.

Watch how a few people in the pits drive the price of commodities up and down of commodites, including copper and gold because they are able to use the media or their talks with their buddies to do it.
1 day they drive the market up because they say the Feds wiill raise interes rates. The next day they drive it down because the Feds will raise interest rates.
College is a scam.

I have some friends of mine, a young married couple with three kids, who are sold on the diea that quixtar will help them gain some sort of financial independance. I told them that the whole deal is a scam. I showed them some articles from
www.rickross.com that proved they were an offshoot of Amway, but they still aren't convinced. A google search showed me a few links, but most of them were pretty confusing and unconvincing. Does anyone know a site that breaks down how the scam works in simple english?
