Yo what's good my people's, listen up I got a huge problem going on in the family maybe ya'll can help us out. My cousin Robert Shaffer was accused of robbing a old WHITE lady of a brief case containing 14,000 dollars(yeah same thing I said). Here the story below in his mom's word in a letter she sent to the family we in charlotte.
On January 26th on or about 10:00 am a woman was robbed of a briefcase. This briefcase allegedly contained approximately $14,000 dollars. The woman was asked to look through a book of mug shots to see if she could pick out her alleged attacker. She picked a picture of a young black male, accusing him of committing the crime the police went to his address pounded on the door threatening to break it down if he didn’t open it. When he opened the door he and was handcuffed and dragged out barely dressed for cold weather. Taken to Greenpoint Brooklyn (oh yeah by-the-way he lives in Coney Island) and placed in a line-up, where he was picked out by the woman who just viewed his photo in a book of mug shots.
My name is *********** and I am a member of St. Paul’s Community Baptist Church and this young black male is my son Robert Lee Shaffer. When this alleged crime was taken place Robert was at work. On or approximately 10:00 am on Friday January 26, 2007 in Manhattan he was making a delivery. Since he does not ride alone he has a witness who was and is available to testify to his where a bout’s. With all that being said he was still arrested. I am outraged of the misuse of our judicial system. Not only have the police department wrongly arrested my son; but they have indicted him too soon and he has been incarcerated for far too long. It seems they have no intention to hear the witness who was riding with him in the van all day or let him speak on his behalf. Our country’s judicial system is built believing that a man is innocent until proven guilty. The police have no physical evidence, and have been provided an alibi to where he was at the time. How can this young man still be locked up?
To make matters worse on January 29, 2007 my granddaughter *********** was born to my son Robert and his girlfriend Shaeena. On the evening of January 30, 2007 Robert was at his Coney Island apartment to change clothes and to take care of a few things before going back to Long Island College Hospital to be with his beautiful new born daughter and her mother. Being alone in the apartment when arrested no one was aware of this arrest until about 2:00 pm January 31, 2007 the following day. Shaeena was at the hospital waiting for Robert’s arrival. Excited about going home with her new baby, but he never showed. Robert was finally given a phone call the next day to only alarm Shaeena two days after given birth of his wrongful arrest. She now finds herself alone with no transportation, no money, no baby clothes and no car seat. You see these were some of the things Robert was taking care of before his life was so brutally interrupted.
Have anybody heard about this up top, is it in the papers are anything, we trying to find out as much info as possible.
