Why gay people want children is answered by the same thing as before though. Gay isn't a different species. They're still males and females. They just don't want to be in relationships with the opposite faction.

They're bi. They like males still. And men within the next 50 years i'm guess will soon indeed be obsolete. They're working on a way for women to have children without male interaction at all. They create a sperm cell from your woman partners genetic material and you can be impregnanted with that.
