‘Queen Sugar’ Final Season Trailer Sets Up the Bordelon Family’s Last Chapter
The seventh and final season of ‘Queen Sugar,’ executive produced by Ava DuVernay and Oprah Winfrey, debuts Sept. 6 on OWN.
I just started this. I'd heard about it, but I've never taken the time to watch it until just now. One of my lady friends came over and suggested it so I started from episode 1.Very well written show..
This is the last & only show I've watched in the last 5-6 years.
I need to finish season 6, my FireTV stick not loading the episodes
It's on Hulu, season 1-6Very well written show..

What you mean?As you said, very well written show. It showed the difference between lies and Liars with Hollywood and Vi (Season 1) and Davis and Charley. Really loving the way Hollywood was written, same as Vi.
I don't have Hulu.It's on Hulu, season 1-6
Sucked after the first season. I loved the original premis….black woman/family owns sugar cane farm/sugar processing plant among rural/racist Louisiana. By the middle of the second season you barely know sugar is even in the equation.
what makes the award winning series Succession such a winner is because the business is at the core of the writing. Even though the writing incorporates the family relationships, it never loses sight that the core of the series is about the business. QS just let the business go altogether and at that point “so did I”.

Similar to how The Wire season 2 focused on the port and all of it's happenings, but later tied it all together the corner boys and the co-op, Queen Sugar does the same. The relationships are a vital part and reflect so many of our own experiences in family and business.

Ironically, I think the writing fell off in season 5. There are a few things I didn't like; Ralph Angel getting set up & played by Sam Landry and that ex-con, losing the farm behind it, and Hollywood going off on him for just trying to get some get back from all the shit the Landry's had done.
The whole gay agenda with Micah and his friend.
Vi and that battered woman with the son. Just too much.
Nova and that damn book & press run.
R.A. losing the farm wasn't all his fault. Yea, he got caught up, but he was hurting for money because the high levels of pesticides that had been sprayed on his crop. The family got everything going on except Family Business, and end up losing the most valuable asset.
This part resonated with me because I'm on a ranch learning how to farm and there's a learning curve as well as the shit is physically & financially taxing. A nigga can't get no help! *Sigh*
We’ll see that’s the part about the show I disagree with. Because every family that I know that has a family business the Business comes first. Every single day they have to deal with the business because if you don’t deal with a business the business will die in the family doesn’t have anything. So all of those relationships are great and yes it’s acted out great but in my opinion it should’ve remain centered around the business. Even the show billions, which is one of my favorites, has great relationships and great acting but they never lose sight that it’s all about the business.Your breakdown is why I loved the show, I don't feel like the writing fell off, the parts you didn't like were still well acted out to me and just added to the story. The part about the family losing sight of the family business because of other things going on in their lives is what happens in everyday life. I'm about to find the last season now

Yea. I just want a healthy balance besides some storylines I just ain't care for like Micah's gay college friend, Charlie's rekindling with Davis... and while it's on my mind let me get on that, their whole relationship dynamic sends the wrong message to these career women out here. It's telling women they can run their husband's career, have a kid, get divorced when they feel like it, move and change careers, send kid to college, while dating, then rekindle with ex-husband. Tf?! FOHWe’ll see that’s the part about the show I disagree with. Because every family that I know that has a family business the Business comes first. Exactly! I'm willing to bet that it's more common than not in the black family/community.That's the families you know but there are plenty of families who for whatever reason let what's going on in their personal lives distract them from the family business, this show is showing what happens in those situations

Aunt Vi the only resl healthy representation of a wife.
Bitch, if you don't have a seat!

I also didn't like how Darla went behind Ralph Angel back to get help from her parents, and gave him the worst guilt trip for taking the bait from that ex-con that played him. Bitch, if you don't have a seat!
A lot of shows, particularly a lot of black shows do that falling into tropes. For example, scandal. Scandal did that a lot. You forgot all about her business and the purpose for the show and it was all about her and the fucking president.Sucked after the first season. Yea, my issue isn't that it isn't realistic, because it is. My issue is I just don't care to tune into the only show I watch and it too is contaminated with the gay agenda and feminism.Yeah they added a lil to much to Charli's character but minus the whole running the husband's career part relationships do fall apart and come back together like that and I'm sure you know some women who have done stuff like Darla did. Like I said above the things y'all don't like happene everyday in real life and the actors do such a good job with their acting that you have those reactions to the storylines. I've even been in a situation like Michah's where a woman told me a guy we worked with was gay trying to see my response/reaction and I told her the guy has never came at me wrong so I don't have a problem with him

Gray's anatomy. Became less about the hospital and more about the bullshit. The best seasons of Gray's Anatomy were Seasons I think one through three before Isaiah Washington got himself kicked off
I'm writing a novel right now about magic and I can't imagine that by the third book They're not talking about fucking Magic.
I'll continue to watch it and if it jumps the shark to a point where I don't feel it continues to hold my attention then I'll cut it loose like I did The Walking Dead
It's important for writers to remember what the show/book is about and not fall into the secondary shit that is only part of what the show/book is about
As a writer and a cinephile, I know that people only think they know what they want to see. Sometimes, when they actually get what they thought they wanted they realize that's not what they wanted.Yeah I always thought SCANDAL didn't need the constant storyline with her and the president but women loved it so I knew it was always going to be in there. The Walking Dead was my all time favorite show, even today I'll sometimes just pick a episode and start watching. I was really mad when they made it unwatchable to me and I had to just let it, they've recently started heavily promoting the final episodes but I just can't see myself watching those episodes
