Is one county better than the other? I'm aware of what the deal is in Miami-Dade, so I know that is an option for shit to do.

Housing is picking back up but there's still deals to be had. Nothing like Atl. Or Vegas though. Rents pricey, expect $1100+ for a nice one bedroom.

Can't speak on schools,no kids.

Plenty to do, if you want you'll never get bored. Beaches, restaurants, clubs, culture etc. Other than clubs there's not a lot of black culture so that kinda sucks.

Broward is like a different planet compared to Dade, especially south Miami. Down there is different from any where in the country. Broward is a lot more laid back, less congested and west Broward is real nice. Pembroke pines, Miramar, etc. It depends on what you like personally. I live in Broward for work but if I could I would be back in Miami.

As far as employment, it depends on what you do but as a general rule pay is lower than average and the job market is kinda soft. But again, it depends on your field.

Hope that helps a bit, let me know if you got more questions or need more specifics.

More info on the coastal cities in the eastern part of Palm Beach County...if you have it. I ain't really concerned about no black culture shit...had enough of that being from ATL and all. Looking for more diversity and close proximity to the beaches.

How are race relations? All the black professionals in the ATL from Ft. Lauderdale/Miami say never move there...

Unless you have to be there for your job, I think you'll prefer Dade or broward. There's just really nothing to that area. It's like south florida's "hat". Be advised there are some EXTREMELY hood spots up there, riviera beach is one that pops up. Just cause it's near the water don't make it all good.

I hear ya, But I think you may be taking Atl's strong black community for granted since you live there. You may miss it. Don't get me wrong, it's not mayberry down here, and there's a huge carribean influence but nothing like Atl.

About the same as any major city other than Atlanta. I've never had a CAC come at me sideways but it ain't like the "A". Right now you EXPECT to see black professionals out and about in your city.
Here, You'll stand out which can be good or bad.

I just realized my answers may be coming off as negative. Don't take it like that, I LOVE living down here. The diversity, weather, no state tax, major championship sports teams and the most beautiful woman anywhere. Plus, Its awesome to find a cheap deal on living social and have a mini-vacation on South beach.

I'm from Palm Beach but currently living in Daytona due to school. I would say West Palm Beach and Boca Raton are most like the two best cities to live in. The beaches are great and there's some nice night spots to hang-out at but nothing like Ft. Lauderdale and Miami. But It's much more expensive down here, so you're money will dictate the niceness of where you live. For some reason though all of the black neighorhoods are East of 95 which is about 5 mins from the beach but are not that bad. Just stay away from Riveara Beach and should be fine.

Its all good. I need the good bad and ugly. I check trulia for foreclosed houses and the deals are aight but not like them cheap ass new houses we got in metro ATL. That alone plus the common hurricanes makes me lean back towards Houston or Dallas.

As far as rentals go, where should I look for diversity...no hate but I'd like to avoid niggas and section 8...real rap. :smh:

If a one bedroom is $1100 like you say then fuck PB county and Broward...that's a 4000 sq ft mortgage in ATL right now.

I thought West Palm was the damn ghetto/hood full of niggas that work in the hotels and restaurants and shit?

Always some fucked up crime story coming out...

Yeah, It was hot for deals for a while but its dried up. If you take your time you can still come up though. Nothing as cheap as ATL or Dallas. We haven't had a hurricane in years And South Florida is pretty well set up to handle them. All gas stations must have generators and building codes were upped to some of the strictest in the country. Everywhere has some weather shit, but no Snow and cold weather outweighs the occasional storm.

I hear that man...Do you know where you'll be working yet? Want to be close to nightlife or prefer suburbia?

Yeah, some apartments are really nice and verge on resorts when it comes to amenities but they cost. You can find private owners renting condo's and townhouses for the cheap sometimes.

Some parts, but It's also some of the most BALLINGEST BALLERS in the world out there. To give you an idea, The Kennedy compound and Tigers new crib are there too. But again, As a black man, I can safely say stay in Broward or Dade.

I'll give you some specific neighborhoods when you let me know if you got a Job lined up and where.

Cost of living is expensive.. traffic can be a pain but overall I love it here

I was born and raised in West Palm Beach, and the best advice I can give you is do NOT move there. Ignorance reigns supreme :smh:

If you are going to move there, stay away from Tamarind Avenue, Spruce Avenue, and don't even think about hanging out in Riviera Beach.

I will acknowledge that I haven't lived there since late '99 and there have been a lot of changes since then. But still. Don't do it. :smh:

Start with Palm Beach and work within a 30 minute commute WITH traffic.

Just throw out some nice neighborhood or street names.

I'll look the rentals up on my own.

Just trying to get a feel without making a damn visit. :smh:

You need to make a visit and decide for yourself. Like others have said it depends on your location and money. Pay is low for the cost of living. Plenty of shit to do depending on your interests.

I've lived here in Atlanta for the last two years. Niggas complain here about the crime and other shit. I tell them this is a cake walk in comparison to Riviera Beach (S Ave/Blue Herron, etc.)

Yeah the salaries look to be about $5000 less on the average compared to ATL and Texas. :smh:On a good note, some less than 5 year old homes available in golf subdivisions for $150 and under but in ATL those same sized homes are $100k and under... :smh:

I believe you...but I ain't dumb enough to rent in the hood or nowhere near it. I can stay in ATL for that bulljizzle.

I'm learning how shit is layed out, its the Turnpike and I-95, you either in between or on the outside close to the coast.
