"Pull Yo Pant’s Up"
I know I told you guys that my next blog would be the story I was working on, but America "da beautiful" wouldn't allow that to be the case. I have to hit ya with this story that's sweeping the streets........What's with this bullshit about "Pull Yo Pant's Up"?
I don't think it's the theory that I have a problem with....because in theory I believe that young men do need to " PULL YA DAMN PANTS UP".....Truly I don't want to see some brotha drawers as he walks down the street. but the problem I have is again I'm hearing folks want to put this on the HIP-HOP community.
I have a couple of problems with this.:
1. When are we as people (parents, concerned citizens, adults), gonna except that it's not HIP-HOP, but us as people (parents, concerned citizens, adults) that are failing at our jobs of rearing responsible young men. This is not the HIP-HOP communities job. It's not 50 cents job to raise my/your son. I don't care what he puts on a record if you don't want your son to listen to 50 don't let him. If you don't want your son in G-Unit clothing with his boxers showing his ass make him pull his damn pants up. I don't understand this shit ....when people say "it's hip-hop that makes my son sag his pants" or it's hip-hop that has my son mistreating women.....Dat's bull shit.....what kids see on video's or hear in songs does not make them act or treat those around them they way they do......My son listens to "Gangsta Rap" not because he buys IT but because I do......but I can assure YOU he does not disrespect his mother........he does not wear a sag in his jeans.......and it's not because he doesn't see videos are hear the music......it's because I'd beat his asss.......I DON'T DISRESPECT my wife (his mother) so he DAMN SURE better not.....
2. When are we as BLACK FOLKS gonna realize this is a shot at us......why are we rallying to help these folks that are taking shots at us.....I guess it's the crabs in a bucket theory....or maybe it's and I hate to say it, "self hatered" that's got "us" running to support their call....I mean we don't vote, half of America's "Blacks" have no clue of the issues.......but we will go vote for Hillary because Bill was the closest thing we had to a "BLACK PRESIDENT".....are you fucking kidding me......You won't vote for Barak Obama, because he's not "black enough", but you'll vote for Hillary because "Bill" was.....GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE.......It's dumb ass parents like this that are raising the kids (the sons) that believe we done loss our fucking minds....but blame HIP-HOP it's so much easier than looking in the mirror and realizing that it's us thats fucking up....It's us that's letting MTV babysit.....It's Parents at home that call women Bitches...you know Ma when you talk to your "Girl", but "you don't mean nothing by it"....kinda like we call our boyz "my Nigga".....last month hot topic ......
We black folks have always let our pants sag.....in the beginning it was because we couldn't afforded a belt.....things have changed now for some of us.......but I guess the sag is a problem because "suburan kids" want to do it......when I was younger I remember my Grandmother telling me after catching my pants hanging a little low....."I don't care what the hell everyone else does you've got a belt and if has loops on it you better have one on"......did I listen? Well hell ya "Regina Bell" would have knocked a brotha out and lost no sleep about it.....Henceforth my son has the same rules if it has loops put a damn belt on.......Hip-Hop didn't teach me that my Grandmother did, my Mother did, my Father did, and it's my responsability to teach my son.....you need to teach yours.....
