If they're married when he starts his business then they ARE de facto partners, regardless of who works harder.

I used to be a firm believer in that shit but at some point i want to settle down and be with 1 girl who loves me.

This prenup thing is a trip i don't believe people should make out with a payday just for being married to having a kid by or dating somebody. But at the same time are you poisoning your relationship by asking for it upfront?

Maybe. Doing so may almost make it seem like you are waiting for your marriage to fail. But not doing it could cost you in the long run. Sometimes people may find themselves so in love and not wanting to hurt their loved ones feelings by asking. This is very touchy and could change the complexity of the relationship. Great, now I have something else to worry about.

What most folks don't understand is prenups are for those who have large amounts of assets going into the marriage. You can't protect something you don't have yet. Most young cats bring a car some electronics and a few dollars into the marriage. Most women are no different. If your older your largest asset will be your 401k or maybe a home you owned before a marriage. It makes perfect sense to protect these things before you get married. If a lawyer was to ask most folks on this forum what assets are you trying to protect they would have very little to offer. They would say they want to protect future earnings. My goal in life is not to take care of a grown ass adult because they are to lazy or greedy to take care of themself. I fear getting screwed in a child support dispute way more than a women taking me for my assets. Find you someone who has just as much to lose as you do if things go south. If your women gets a huge payday because of a bad marriage you chose the wrong women in the first place. If my marriage goes south my wife will get half because that is what she put into it. Point blank.
