LOS ANGELES -- A group hoping to place a measure before Los Angeles voters that would require porn actors to wear condoms during film shoots said Wednesday it has gathered more than 64,000 valid voter signatures, about 23,000 more than the law requires for the June ballot.

The measure is backed by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, a group that has made a number of unsuccessful legal efforts - through state legislation, lawsuits and complaints to regulators - to require condoms in adult films.

I am not concerned about the porn industry.

Who watches professional porn now?

That homegrown shit is worrisome.

1. Many of those brawds are underaged.

2. Condoms only make cameo appearances.

Makes absolute sense...if seeing condoms bothers the viewer then they're paying too much attention to the wrong thing :dunno: but fans are fickle...I read that ppl were bitchin about the new X-mas Coke cans cuz they wanted the red ones so I know watchers of porn will more than likely bitch about condoms which would be very selfish considering lives are @ stake

Michael Weinstien whose the co-founder of AHF has been trying to do this for years and has failed over and over again.

Since 1947 tons of professional boxers have died in the ring or as an immediate result of fighting in the ring. Are u suppose to suddenly just ban the sport of boxing entirely??

Over the past few decades professional race cars drivers have died on the track. Are you suppose to suddenly just ban all formula 1 race car driving and make it illegal because of that??

This proposal will never happen for a few reasons

1) Production will just move to another state

2) IT ain't practical to have condoms while filming. A 15 minute scene can
take up to 5 hours. It's becomes extremely difficult to maintain an
erection (next to impossible) when u'r constantly decensitized from
wearing a rubber. This causes delay/money, and if a guy can't get it
up, he will have to get a "kill fee" and that will affect a dudes
reputation as a reliable performer which then affect his work being
offered to him which then affects his pockets.

My major issue with this is, why is the AHF trying to fight a battle they can't win. This proposal has been brought to government over and over again and it gets denied all the time. When looking over the facts by government legislation from both sides of the fence from a proponent or an opponent stand point, factors such as testing protocols and just the overall safety of the business meets a certain standard of requirement or approval based on statistics and testimonies from most peformers who are against this proposal......even with the inherent risk involved. So why are the AHF tryna fight a battle they can't win????

Yours Truly....Professor
