Poll: Whites and Republicans rank as angriest in US

The next President will probably appoint 2 new supreme court justices - and if the GOP win that could turn back all the civil right laws enforced by the court during the 60's-70's. Why vote?

The NBC News/SurveyMonkey/Esquire poll, released Sunday morning during NBC’s “Meet the Press,” found that 61 percent of Republicans find themselves feeling angry about current events or the news more than they did one year ago. Forty two percent of Democrats said the same thing.

More than three-quarters of Republicans, 77 percent, said they now get angry at least once a day, compared with 67 percent of Democrats.

White Americans are also angrier than African Americans and Latinos, pollsters found.

Fifty four percent of whites said they find themselves feeling angrier more often about current events. Thirty three percent of African Americans said the same thing, as did 43 percent of Latinos.

Pollster said there is a strong correlation between a high degree of anger and “the sense that the U.S. is no longer the most powerful country in the world; that the American dream is dead; that the gap between the rich and poor is widening; and that one’s life didn’t turn out as well as one had imagined when they were younger.”

More than half of white respondents, 52 percent, said the American dream once held true, but not longer does, according to the poll.

Women are slightly angrier more often than they used to be than men, according to the poll, 53 to 44 percent. Women are angrier than men about police violence against blacks and campaign finance abuse, according to the poll, while men are angrier than women about global warming and gay marriage.

The online poll of 3,257 adults was conducted between Nov. 20 and 24.

Its always easier to blame someone else instead of accepting the blame yourself. But anger is even deeper than that. For better than a century white people have been deluding themselves that they are superior to us. Now that the playing field is leveling off the realization that they are far from superior is driving them mad.

I have to agree with you on CACs they do show up and will vote republican even though the republican policy is against their best interest. This is all the more reason why we can't sit at home on election day. Also that voting in 2016 is even more important than electing and reelecting Obama to the white house.

It's not about what the democrats did or didn't do during the last 2 terms. If we allow Trump and the republican party to waltz into the white house, giving them total control of the White House and both houses, black and poor people and any non Anglo will get fucked over far worse than you can imagine.

Remember Obama had to get his financial team in place to correct the mess Junior and his boys created. I believe Obama and his team started working weeks prior to Obama's inauguration day.

Gas prices are the lowest I can remember in over 10 years, the jobless rate is only 5.3% last time I looked. Those numbers look pretty good to me.

Naturally, but does that line of thinking get people to the voting booth? The majority of voters don't vote thinking about lesser of two evils. That's something more knowledgeable voters consider. The majority of voters are wooed into voting. Hillary ain't really going to woo shit. After Obama? She is a let down. Dems have need rockstars for the last two Dem presidents.

If you find yourself taking a political poll, mostly likely taken by white people, and they ask for your race and if you're angry, are you going to answer yes?
