Question for the board. Do any of you have a problem with platonic fiendships? I'm aiming this more toward the married folks, but all opinions are welcome. Would you have a problem with a wife or husband maintaining relationships with members of the opposite sex?
 
Based on my experiences and those of my friends, if the girl is attractive at all you're gonna at least have thoughts about more than platonic love. That being said, things won't work out well between you and your wife if you freak out everytime she wants to spend time with a friend of the opposite sex. So a good idea would be to be around when they're together. As in, do things in groups instead of letting them go have dinner and stuff alone. If her "friend" has any kind of secret motivations, you just have to figure out a way keep them from getting to her without being the jealous husband. It's a delicate issue.

I'm not married, but I have been in this situation with my girlfriend. Before we met, I had two very close female friends that I clearly told her about before we became official. However, I have to constantly assure her that I'm not going to eff them. She admitted to me the other day that she was possesive, but I'm not going to end two close long lasting friendships over a little jealousy.
 
general questions like that essentially become opinion based, because we all gather our opinions from expereince. i think that the answer to this is situational. because let's be real. if i JUST met a chick, how am i to know what is going to happen a few years from now. is it worth it to abandon lifelong friendships for the pussy you aren't even assured of? i mean if it gets to the point of you being in love with wifey, or even wifing her up, then perhaps the situation becomes different.
