Pistons Players Lost Confidence In Rookie Coach

Has Michael Curry lost control of the 25-20 Pistons and the respect of the players? Did he have it to lose? Numerous players didn't much care for Flip Saunders. Now it's more a lack of confidence in the rookie coach than a dislike of him, from what I'm told. "No confidence" is more like it, a veteran confided to a friend. "Psychologically we've lost confidence in him and I don't know how you get that back." Biggest gripe from two veterans: They're convinced Curry is being told who to play by Joe Dumars.

I said this when the Trade went down, the iverson and Hamilton can't be in the Court together when your Offense is not high powered. If the Fans can see it, the Coaches should be able to see it, thats why they are paid the big $$$. unless they are just puppets on a string... I'll give them a pass till iverson contract ends..

The Iverson trade shut the window on the Pistons being a contender. I have no idea what Dumars is doing.

Summary: Just about every team in the NBA has traveled to Yugoslavia to see him play. They all came away impressed. It isn't very often that you find a big man with the type of skills he possesses. He's as fundamentally sound as anyone in the draft. He'll be a top three pick in this year's draft.

BWAWAWAWWAWAHAHHAHAHAHA

Thread should be titled: Stupid assholes lost focus of making millions to play a fuckin game!
Spoiled ass fools. LOL!!

Oh yeah....it's Curry fault the Pistons are close to being a .500 team

meanwhile....down in Denver............

Weren't they a .500 team that USED to be a .600 team that's now close to being a .667 team?

I remember this.

Curry is just a stop gap for the Pistons, I figure Curry, Sheed, and Iverson will be gone soon.

That doesn't make up for the mistake they made drafting Darko...imagine if they had got Bosh instead(since they went big) :itswrap:

Thats just like me as a Cowboys fan...we should of had 4 superbowls in a row...but since Jerry and Jimmy got into it we missed out on that one after Jimmy left...and the Super Bowl we won the year after has killed us ever since...it gave Jerry confidence that he could be the owner AND GM/coach? He won that championship without Jimmy and he hasn't let it go :hmm:

Pistons would be in GREAT shape right now if they hadn't fucked up in that draft :smh:

Didn't read every post in this thread, but the ones I did read (including my own) have avoided the real issue behind this story (if it's legit that is....after all it is the NY Post which has been proved to be a piece of shit rag)): Which is, why would these professional babsketball players would have a "lack of respect" for a rookie head coach to begin with? These men are all adults. They all know that this is the man's first head coaching job and that he is most certainly going to make plenty of mistakes. They also should realize that he will need to depend upon veterans of the games to walk him through it.

Even if these players didn't respect Flip Saunders, they still played for him. Just look at their regualr season record. So what's the difference now?

You guys are not looking a the bigger picture. Dumars is thinking about 2 years from now. Iverson's contract will give him huge cap room. He's rebuilding that team.

CO-SIGN!!!

I predicted this from the start of this season. This is 'old' school Pistons' formula. Owner Davidson DOES NOT care about the Pistons being a contender. His major concern is having the Palace sold-out for each game, and the Pistons putting on a good show. Period.

Curry was a shoe-in, because he's Joe's boy. It's known as CONTROL! Iverson? Even a dull mind is aware of the obvious! The man is definitely out of place.

It will be years before Detroit contends, again.:hmm:

Its sad that folks are still talking about the darko draft. The best thing the pistons should of done with that pick was trade it for a future pick. They picked 2nd cause of the grant hill trade. They were already a set team. The starting 5 was solid. So any1 they picked wouldn't of gotten much pt ie the reason they didn't pick melo, bosh, wade.. Honestly what messed everything up with the pistons was when Ben left. They never thought that he would leave the team the way he did

And dumars isn't looking at making a run at anything for about 2-3 years. Reason he traded billups is because he wants to play stuckey more because the team is getting old.

Well at least the Pistons won a title recently because it doesnt look like they'll be back in the finals any time soon with the way the big 3 are playing right now ( Boston, Cleveland and Orlando )

The Pistons will be a 'middle-of-the-pack' team for years to come. They can't get STAR player and expect him to revert to so-called Piston basketball.:smh:

Blaming the Piston woes on the ill-fated 'DARKO' draft builds a loser mentality, at best, along with a 'coulda-woulda-shoulda' acceptance of its current condition. :hmm:
