It really can be exhausting trying to pull someone else in. Took my daughter to the beach last year... she was eight, but a little overweight. The year before I took her in past where the waves crash and she loved it. But this year she ended up freezing halfway in... and that's a bad spot to be. We got hammered and I couldn't hold onto her. After we got tossed around, I grabbed her and tried to get back and man, I have to say I haven't been that exhausted ever. Trying to get out that last 100 feet... it was tough.
