did ya'll know that phylicia rashad sister is vanessa del rio :yes: a girl i work with told me it was true, someone told me that years ago but i didn't believe it but now this chick was the 3 person this month to tell me this , what do you guys think ;)
 
As far as I know, this is not true. Phylicia Rashad has 1 sister and her name of Debbie Allen. She rose to fame starring on the show "Fame". She has been married to Norm Nixon for a long time. Phylicia and Debbie had a very good upbringing. Their father was a doctor and he raised them well.

The singer Jody Watley that used to be with the group Shalimar has a sister that is a porn star and that is as far as it goes.
 
i don't believe it,,, but they would have to be half sisters if this is true,,, phylicia rashad & debbie allen (both are sisters) were born in Houston, TX,,, vanessa del rio is from Harlem

Wow, you're late with this one! We had this discussion on the board back in '02. Somebody posted an interview with Vanessa Del Rio where she stated that the rumor was not true. I'm surprised this rumor is still spreading. As far as I know, Jody Watley sister Midori is the only porn star who has a famous sibling.

Ana Maria Sanchez is Cuban/Puerto Rican and was born in Harlem. Debbie and Phylicia are "black" and were born in Texas, and have no younger, Latina "half-sisters."
 
Debbie and Phylicia has and older sister who was also in one of those sitcoms on ABC in the 80's I remember they were on the Jet front page years ago
 
dont think its true, but i have heard the rumor before. a college friend swore they were sisters back in 95.

This "black urban legend" has been around since well before Wendy's sex change operation (and subsequent pseudo-fame).

The linking of porn, in one way or another, to celebs is classic "urban legend" fodder. It's been around since the days of the silents, but really took off in the modern porn era (post-'70) and exploded with the internet (of course).

i didn't say the claim of kinship was true (or false).

you asked where do people come up with this stuff, and i named 1 person who has publicly disseminated this mis/information on at least 1 occasion.

and i was referring to the east coast radio personality, wendy williams, not the tranny adult video talent.
