here's a question..why isn't dame talking to these people..I get the feeling this would have been a much more interesting interview if he conducted it and I mean HIM not "the barber" walters:rolleyes:

:smh::smh::smh::smh:

Peter is FRONTING... :smh::smh::smh:

Them niggas FUCKED UP BY NOT CLEARING THE SONG... AND... LETTING THE RADIO GET THE SONG... :smh::smh::smh:

Donald Fagan and Walter Becker... ARE NO DUMMIES... :smh::smh::smh:

They played it smart... Whereas Gunnz and Lord Tariq played themselves... and Lord Tariq, who was more of a music biz vet than Gunnz, SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER... :smh::smh::smh:

By putting the record out with NO clearance, they gave Steely Dan ALL OF LEVERAGE... :smh:

Lesson learned...:dunno:

Lol....how many of those questions asked would Dame allow Peter to answer. Would he allow the first five seconds of the answer before yelling STOP and cutting off Peter to answer the question himself? Dame giving Peter a five minute interview would end up being Dame talking for more than four of the five minutes.

Basically then that nigga french Montana took their sample and ran with it on shot caller :lol:

I know Vlad is the devil and all, but there is something to be said about a man who speaks and looks down on the ground the whole time.

Meanwhile, his broke ass is still creating families with hoodrats.

never understood that. fuck a chick that is 3-5 steps below you and then you get her pregnant on top of that? I remember hearing somewhere that some well-to-do person fed, poor people don't know how to do shit but fuck and get high. it's not entirely true... And it's not entirely false

how is he fronting if he told the truth?? they put the song out not expecting it do what it did..they just put out for the local heads...I don't know what it cost to clear a song but if you put out something with no intention of selling it then its free. I think Steely Dan was kinda shitty to demand 100% of the publishing including the rap lyrics tho:smh::smh:

I mean a 70-30 or even 80-20 split is more in line (because lets face it their beat is driving the song) but to even get the lyrics too is :hmm:

for the bgol babies that don't kno what song he talking about

Not only that, but I know a broad that was in the studio when they cut this song. She said that somebody brought up the possibility of this song without clearance getting them in trouble, and she said that one of them said something like: "Don't nobody know who them niggas are. Shit, we helpin' them out! They should be thankin' us!"
:smh:

:lol::smh: this aint rocket science

at all. :smh:

he doesn't even have to re-record himself asking the questions now that I think about it, he just has to record himself on his end of the things with quality recording equipment, then chop up the audio, and insert it where it fits.

Most of his baby mamas are degreed professionals.

Tara on the show has an MFA from NYU or somewhere.

Another baby mama is a respected attorney in New Orleans and administrator of the Urban League chapter.

Niggas think they know a nigga... if anything, THEY got knocked up by a broke nigga. He cashin' out on em. Even the buck toothed German broad has a lil' bread from publishing and songwriting credits.

That's no voice layover or re-recording. By the way both their voices bounce (or don't bounce) off the walls the exact same way, you can tell he's right there. Plus the interviewee or Vlad is typically unintentionally talking or laughing over each over at certain points, that's not edited or re-recorded in.

It seems pretty pointless re-recording useless adlibs & interjections of himself saying "hmmm", "yeah", "uh-huh" in too with pitch perfect sound in a re-recording too. I'm pretty sure he's there in most these interviews like this one.

Really stupid. So many rappers are just totally unaware of any other music and artists outside of rap, so much so that they are unaware of even those who they sample. The producer, realising trouble ahead, should of at least tried to recreate the groove as an interpolation, using a musician or two, and keep that version as an alternative to strike a deal with the OG's.

Damn shame

Brother Marquis said the same thing about Mass Production when the Firecracker/Me So Horny issue came up. Unfortunately for him, he said that shit during a taping of Lee Bailey's "Radio Scope". After they finished taping, Luke went in on him, and Mass Production came a calling. He something to the effect of "How they gon' sue us? They ain't got no money." :smh:

your missing the point they didn't make the song thinking "this is a hit" they made it for some local ny club shit. Plus using a musician or two means you have to PAY a musician or two...thats why they were sampling the beat in the first place.

bro you hear his voice on the speaker if u listen when peter is talking. also peter has more echo in his voice than vlad. dont argue. this aint the first interview he done like this. he just records his voice on his end.

he doesn't have to re-record adblibs & interjections if he recorded himself the first time, wherever he was at.

He's fronting by playing victim... :smh:

The reality is... they didn't handle their business... :smh:

That sample could have gotten cleared for much less than 100K and 100% publishing.

Steely Dan did them like that because Tariq and Peter FUCKED UP... :smh:

Imagine if you made a song or wrote a blog... or made a video and someone take your work WITHOUT your permission and has parlayed that into a success for them AND NOT YOU. Niggas having a bidding war over your intellectual property and shit... You'd probably HIT THE ROOF.

Peter and Tariq DID not follow procedure and paid the price for it.... and here's the thing... THEY KNEW BETTER... Lord Tariq knew about sample clearance... and said FUCK IT... and that's why I say Peter is fronting... Those dudes made a choice to circumvent proper procedure... AND even though they didn't get any publishing, they damn sure made a SHIT LOAD OF SHOW MONEY... :yes:
