How dare you cut that steak off the bone like that and serve it with out the bone ? I would be fucking pissed off if you served that fucking plate to me like that . I want the whole steak on the bone I eat every single piece of meat and fat off that bone the fat is the best part it gets the most flavor when people cut the fat off and throw it away I tell them your fucking stupid that's the best flavor right there !

Sous vid is the best way, sorry. Pan searing is #2 to me.

while there are wonderful applications for sous vid, you're still going to need to get a crust on it. it will still get a cook ring. you just waste time giving it a hot water bath.

PUNKem7332 weeks ago
Cook ring? What? Sous vid is the way to go. You get that edge to edge pink, with no overcooked band of dry grey under the crust. I can get a vicious crust on any steak, after the bath, you sear it in a pan or grill. How hard is that to understand?

chingrin macchef2 weeks ago
+PUNKem733 cook ring is that bit of grey when the beef denatures during the crusting process. it is inevitable. sous vid steak is just a waste of time. now a sous vide pork roast or belly ir brisket or duck breast, those are awesome applications.

outsiderdf2 weeks ago
Chingrin, it's not just the fact that it's cooked evenly, for sous vide, it's almost juicier. You will not get a ring with a quick one minute sear, and that's all you need for a crust.

+chingrin macchef Not with sous vid. I specifically use that method because I don't get that grey band.

best rib eye I ever cooked was on a charcoal grill. gas or charcoal, it all about the heat. I had a big charcoal grill going for a big get together so there was about 12lbs of Kingsford at peak heat. that sucker was hotter than hell, slapped a couple rib eyes on, dont remeber how long, not too long. let them sit for several minutes then dug in. good lord was a dilicious couple of steaks those where. johnnys seasoning salt and course pepper. done deal

Way overcooked for me. An executive chef friend told me to go 4 minutes on a steak like this if finishing in the oven. He was right. I use that method on Flat Iron steaks though. Not Prime ribeyes. When pan frying a ribeye, I fry two pieces of thick bacon, then use the drippings as my grease. Crusty outside, and cool in the middle.

There's no right or wrong way or "perfect" way to cook a steak.... You can have a perfect steak cooked on a pan, charcoal, grill, sous vide etc. As long as you know how to cook each of the particular way perfectly.

why would you marinate a "prime" cut of beef? i stopped watching once i saw that...

jimi Bernabeu2 weeks ago
U overcooked it so badly, and how u dare serving that like that... if u were my chef i would get fired instantly, omg.

Oldpigsass1 week ago
OK up to plating up. The worst thing if you don't catch them in time is the cook slicing your steak up for you as though you are a child. Ruined. Not for the first time I didn't shout, I just quietly sent it back.
