I can see both sides. If all you have known all of your life is one country and you have been a law abiding citizen and contribute to the society, then I think you should have a PATH (notice I'm not saying automatic) to residency.
I also see how the US needs to lay down the law so to speak on a lot of immigrants who decided to do thing illegally. The young women who asked the question had a great story. But what happened to her parents? Are they still here illegally? I am willing to bet they are. The reason I say is because there are a lot of DACA recipients who hope to make their parents legal once they are. That is the problem.

Children suffering for the mistakes (crimes) of their parents is a absolute part of justice. If a man does a crime that gets him a 30 year sentence, can he then accuse the judge
of breaking up his family? That child would be affected by the father's absence.
Furthermore, deporting someone to their home country isn't a punitive measure, it's a just measure.
But why forget about THE PATH? There is already a PATH defined in law.

And this is the crux of speaking about something that can be researched and proven in a court of law. Just because you say, "Mexico is not her country" doesn't make your statement true.

The 30 year sentence is valid because a family is a single unit. The 30 year sentence will impact and affect the unit.
What I find interesting is that most of the people bitching about immigration, and undocumented workers are the main people that dont do anything of note for the country outside of existing. They arent active in their communities, they arent going to college, they dont have great careers. They just eat, sleep, shit, procreate and bitch about other groups of people, most of whom they've never actually interacted with...

American Freedom: I can enjoy anything I want as long as my freedom doesn't interfere with someone's freedom.
So if you deduct that one clause, a structure of freedom emerges that becomes your RIGHT.

If I would have said that I want to force everyone to read the Bible, even if it's not their religion, that scenario wouldn't have made as big an impact on the mind. I don't know what you mean by "perfect power structure" but those crimes that you mentioned fall under the criminal code of the various states and Federal law, which means that 12 people can be fooled/coerced into giving a faulty judgment.
My argument was about literal nature of freedom based on the two types. Total freedom means no laws. Structured freedom protects me from your freedom. Not just killing but my property, civil rights, etc.
