WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao (54-3-2, 38KOs) advised the Manila Bulletin that he would not fight Miguel Cotto (37-2, 30KOs) at any weight above 147-pounds. Pacquiao stopped Cotto in the twelfth round in 2009. That match was fought at a catch-weight of 145-pounds. Pacquiao learned his lesson after taking some punishment to his body in a one-sided win over Antonio Margarito in 2010, which they fought at 150-pounds.

Cotto is one of the four boxers being considered for Pacquiao's next fight, which is tentative for June 9. Since the loss to Pacquiao, Cotto move up to the junior middleweight division and captured the WBA title. Cotto has said in interviews that he can still make 147-pounds easily. In the rematch with Antonio Margarito, Cotto pushed for a catch-weight of 150-pounds, but the two sides settled on 153.

Pacquiao is expected to announce his next opponent by the end of this coming week.

Arum is trying every possible way not to fight May. The fact that Cotto is even considered after Manny beat him and looking for another match with Marquez is absurd

It's not even a catch weight though... they want him to move down a full weight class. Pulling a 150 catchweight would make sense, even though, it would be hypocritical because Martinez said he would do it to and they flat out said no to Martinez.

Making a cat you already beat, come down a full weight class from where they fight at is just on some other level of bullshit. Might as well fight Bradley and be done with it.

Another excuse to back in to a fight to try to get fans to buy into...Just stop with the games already.

He will fight Tim Bradley. I would have just been fine for a little while if they had announced this before the end of last year like they were supposed to, because most fans should have seen this coming...

Shit I'm not surprised at all. The last time Cotto who had a belt at 147lb had to fight at a catch weight of 145lbs if I'm not mistaken :smh: How the fuck can you have a belt and not even be able to weigh-in at the welterweight limit and the belt is still on the damn line :lol: And the worst part about that shit was they celebrated Pacquiao winning another belt in a higher weight class like it was the greatest shit ever. Now I'm not saying Cotto would've won if the limit was 147lbs but they've been down this bullshit road before and I won't be surprised if they pull the same shit this time. I'm thinking the limit will be 150 and Cotto's belt is on the line again :smh:

I'm a boxing fan till the day I die but I will not be buying or even watching this shit. Fuck Arum, Fuck Pac, and fuck anybody else who is willing to support this bullshit :angry:
