LOL!!! I only know of one definition...which I'm sure is the same for everybody...that's why nobody posted. "one who makes things available for another"

Different people have different views of things. I'm curious to see what it means to someone else. For instance GodBody put what the word meant to him lol

Does 1 get the provider title just by monetary means? What about emotional? What about spiritual?

If your man just gives you his paycheck every week. Is he a provider?

My first thought is monetary to be honest like followup said ,but I think its the whole package including sexually

I'm thinking that's the way it's really looked at in society. if you're not providing for the family monetarily then.....*shrugs*

I'm wondering what if every other aspect you're good at? What if you provide emotional support? Love? Sexually? Spirit energy. What if you provide all of that....But just not money?

So you don't believe a husband should provide for his family? Wife being part of that family? In ANY facet?

There are partnerships where both parties are providing in one way or another. But i'm really not with the idea of one person riding the other to a plush, comfortable life under the guise that the other person was the provider.

The way I see it, it should go back and forth, you might be in school, I might wanna start a business...back and forth..but people don't ride like that...instead, if you're the provider, breadwinner..you are expected to povide needs (of course) and wants (= shit to be keepin up wit the Jones')

...maybe i'm bitter :)

Ok that stuff down there at the bottom...lol I don't know. But i'll say this, thanks for posting. I would really appreciate, i'm sure many others would as well. If you continued to do so.

I also feel people don't ride like that. Nobody really makes the neccasary steps toward that path of dedication in this day and age.

I think its all those things. As a man, being able to successfully provide all those things emotionally, sexually, and financially. Something that is not easy to succeed at all the time.
