Over 1,000,000 US Consumers Behind On Car Loan Payments

Financial advisors would suggest not getting a new car that comes with payments of $300 to $500 unless you can afford to pay significant portions of the principle monthly. You should also have a reserve of six months to help with those payments.

Otherwise get a hooptie.

Man I’m glad to had enough money to buy my Kia out right but I understand the pain of some people

Bought my truck cash, inherited my car that was paid off and low mileage (30k miles on a 2012 Accord)

I'm good for a while. Just need oil changes, tires, and minor maintenance from time to time.

You all missing the bigger picture.

The economy is fucked

Remember what happened in 2006-2007?

They were offering cars with payment terms like, don't pay in the first 12 months etc

Also inflation risks are high and the Fed is going to push up interest rates

Watch housing as well

Stack money right now

all mine are bought outright cash except for my wife's current lease and a infiniti i bought last year but i paid that off within 10 months

I see it looming.

Stacking and being patient are a couple of my goals for 2018.

And there will be money to be made during this time

Been there done that. Nothing like not having a car note....I just can't go back.

My next car gonna be bought outright at the dealership and I want free maintenance kiss my ass so what!

2018, and people don't understand a car is one of the poorest investments a man can make in his lifetime. All you really need transportation for is to get from A to B, unless you are using it for a business where you can write it off. The weekend warriors aka weekday cowards aka paper slaves are good for working 7 days a week to drive a car to church, or riding around in circles in their metro area 1 or 2 days a week with their so called "toy".

Also, expensive whips attract the wrong kind of chicks and friends. People with real money usually don't want other people to know they have money, that keeps the gold diggers and beggars away.
