To celebrate the LSU Tigers 21-14 win over the Iowa Hawkeyes during the 2014 Outback Bowl Wednesday, Outback Steakhouses are giving away free Bloomin' Onion appetizers to any customers who come in and say the words "Outback Bowl" to their server on Jan. 2 and make another purchase.

The folks at Outback crunched the numbers. According to a spokeswoman, they are ready to give away the equivalent length 7,780 football field's worth of onions.
Outback was planning to give away appetizers either way , but if the Hawkeyes won, the free treat would have been coconut shrimp. The restaurants are beefing up staffing by 5,000 Thursday to handle the crowds.
