The University of Oklahoma’s Gallogly College of Engineering is kicking off the “year of diversity” by shaming students to admit their privilege.
MRCTV reported that the school’s website “celebrates diversity” through campus events that “enhance awareness of the issues faced by underrepresented members of our engineering community and promote GCoE’s inclusive climate that is welcoming of all differences.”
GCE has placed red footprints across campus that gives out facts and figures about African Americans being under represented in educational achievement, despite the fact there’s no correlation that links those stats to institutional racism.
Another footprint tells students that it’s their “fault” not to admit their privilege — they don’t specify if they’re talking to a privileged black students who make up just 1.5 percent of the student population.

So while they don’t direct guilt at any single race — like Asians who are over represented in grad school and college overall. Blacks are told that they are the victim, and the system is keeping them down.
