A freak accident that killed a man walking down the sidewalk just got a bit stranger.

Witnesses said the man, who police identified as a violent sex offender, was watching porn on his phone as he walked down the sidewalk on Park Avenue. That's when he was hit by a runaway trailer and killed.

"I think it is ironic that he was watching porn. And this dealt with some of the crimes he may have perpetrated." said dentist Dr. Peter Trimble.

Dr. Trimble's office is near the spot where Kevin Jordan was hit and killed by a runaway trailer on Wednesday around 5 p.m. Witnesses said police told them the victim, Kevin Jordan, was looking at porn on his phone when he was hit.

Jordan, who lives just a few houses down from where he was killed, is listed in court records as a violent sex offender involving aggravated rape.

"He had his life in order," said Jordan's fiancee, Connie Harris, who added that he turned his life around since he was convicted of several rapes in the early 1990s.

But, court records show he was arrested for indecent exposure last year.

A woman who did not want to be identified said she called police when she saw Jordan expose himself while wearing a trench coat.

"They [police] showed me his record and his last rape victim had been when he was 18 and then there were several more," she explained.

Harris said her fiance recently had a kidney transplant and was near the woman's office because he was on dialysis. She said Jordan was urinating, not exposing himself.

Harris said--despite his past--he did not deserve to die the way he did.

“It’s a big loss. I love him. I still love him,” Harris said.

Jordan was sentenced to 25 years for the rapes. He was released from prison a few years ago for good behavior.

Police have not charged the man who was pulling the trailer. The case remains under investigation.
