"Ravishing" Rick Rude

Fuck what you heard... Ravishing Rick was Da Man... I can't recall watching him wrestle a match that wasn't entertaining... His feuds with Jake the Snake and The Ultimate Warrior were classics and don't get me started on his promos... Rude is another wrestling that deserves to be in the WWE HOF...

It's too bad he suffered that career ending injury against Sting. He was trying to comeback when he passed away. He was before his time, a Rick Rude-Stone Cold Steve Austin feud would have been great.

Don't forget he was the only person to appear on both Raw and WCW Nitro on the same night before McMahon bought WCW.

Rick Rude is the quintessential wrestler. He was the shit in the WWF, he was awesome in WCW against Sting, he was the shit in ECW, he came back to the WWF in DX, and then was in the nWo in WCW. The feud with Snake Roberts with Jake's wife Cheryl printed on his tights and Jake coming down to rip them off was classic. People talk about Ric Flair, but to me, Flair didn't have shit on Rude. I got my swagger from Rude (and Perfect).

He was the first to beat the Warrior and he should've gotten a title run.

CUT THE MUSIC. WHAT I'D LIKE TO HAVE RIGHT NOW, IS FOR ALL YOU FAT, RIGHT-CLICKING, ILLEGAL PORN DOWNLOADING, BGOL BUTTPUMPERS TO KEEP THE NOISE DOWN, WHILE I TAKE MY ROBE OFF AND SHOW THE LADIES WHAT A REAL MAN IS ALL ABOUT. HIT MY MUSIC.

:lol::lol:

Man he was the blueprint of how to be a heel in wrestling in the 80s - 90s. All those new school cats like Masters and Venis rubbed off this dude. Those times when Rude was on SNME was the shit late nights on network TV...

i cant take rude was the man..... but swag? hell i got mine from my favorite of all time the king of swag.. Rick Flair..... followed by mr perfect.. those dudes swag was untouchable..... flashy? what? u cant say the word when speaking about wrestling without mentionion Flair at the TOP.. u feel me? he created everybodys persona basically becuz they all came after the KING.. Nature Boy.. i mean there was others before Rick but not quite like Rick.... His Flair was Gold... no pun intended:yes:

but umm.. Rip RIck Rude.....

If Rude wasn't injured he would be right up there with Flair, Sting, and HBK as some of the best all around workers in wrestling.

I remember every match ya'll are talking about.
When ever Bobby The Brain, Mr. Perfect or Rude were on SNME, that was it.

Rick Rude/Jake Robert was one of the best fueds in wrestling history.

But on a side/sad note Vince would have blacked balled him once he bought WCW. That was one of the biggest embarassments in WWF history.

I think they will have to put him in the Hall of Fame sooner or later.
I wonder if they will put out a Rick Rude DVD?

although at time his gimmick was borderline fag he was known as a legit tough guy in real life. kevin nash, erik watts, and ultimate warrior were some wrestlers who he had to fuck up in the past for getting out of line with him. dude was a good wrestler and that rude awakening neckbreaker is still a classic finisher. RIP

Rick Flair is the King of Swagger Jacking...

He stole his gimmick from the Nature Boy Buddy Rogers....

"Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers , born Herman C. Rohde, Jr., (February 20, 1921 – June 26, 1992) was a professional wrestler and one of the biggest wrestling stars in the beginning of the television era. His performances inspired generations of professional wrestlers, such as "Nature Boy" Ric Flair, who used Buddy Rogers' nickname, as well as his look, his attitude, and his finishing hold, the Figure four leglock. He was the first of many historic names to hold the title now known as the WWE Championship.

The way he embarassed WWE by jumping when he did, yeah, Vince would have paid that ass back.

Rick Rude is a classic example of a wrestler who at first was all show but a barely decent wrestler but by the early 90s he was probably the best wrestler in the world.
He hurt his back just as he was about to get into a feud with Big Van Vader. That would have shown what WCW was going to do with him. Although with Hogan coming in soon thereafter, it's still hard to call.

Vince would have gotten over it. He hired Eric Bischoff who did a hell of alot more to Vince McMahon than Rick Rude. Besides, it's about money and Rick Rude could draw money. I really wish he had lived to make his comback. The only wrestlers that will probably never have anything to do with WWE again are Macho Man Randy Savage, Shane Douglass and Jeff Jarrett.

Does anyone know how he felt about Sting in real life cause Sting was reckless when gave Rude his career ending injury.

Don't forget Lex Luger. And Sting hurt Rude's neck.

Rude is in my top-15 favorites of all-time.

You give McMahon too much credit. He has, at times, made amends with various wrestlers to make money (Hart, Warrior, Hogan) but he's left just as much money on the table over petty bullshit. He's never even brought Madusa Miceli back as a trainer for his Divas. He's never brought back Randy Savage or Sid Vicious. The best example of his ego being greater than his greed was the way they handled the booking for the WCW/ECW Invasion.
Rude's jump was timed with the intent to embarass WWE and Vince would have remembered that.

He screwed up the invasion angle royally and has far too often not let WCW talents do what got them over in WCW instead feeling the need to create his own characters. He didn't bring back Madusa but quite frankly, Finley did pretty good in working with the divas. The development of Trish Stratus is a perfect example of that.

As I said Savage is a wrestler that the WWE seems to want nothing to do with and Sid was on the shelf when WCW got bought and had just suffered a possible career ending injury. With the exception of Savage none of the others you mentioned would have brought as much money as Rude could have and to compare what he did to what Madusa did would be ridiculous. Besides I remember doing the same thing with Meng showing up at the Royal Rumble even though he was the hardcore champ in WCW.

If he had comeback he probably would have been over enough that WWE would have brought him back and it would have been cheaper than bringing in the likes of Goldberg.

I disagree. Rude was great but he would have been 40-plus and all his great feuds were with guys not on the WWE roster (Warrior, Jake, Sting). Rude could have been a true top level guy but he never was and when it finally looked like his time had come, he got hurt. No way Vince puts Rude, who left him twice-once embarrassingly public, over HHH, Michaels, Taker, or even JBL, guys who have proven to be very loyal to him.
They never brought back Curt Hennig and are only now honoring him posthumously with a Hall of Fame induction and a dvd.

JBL was still in a tag team when he started the invasion angle and Rude could have feuded with Austin, The Rock, Y2J, Foley, amongst others. Hennig did comeback for a while he was in the Royal Rumble in 2002 and was still with the company when they did the draft angle. Besides JBL is over 40 now, usually has lackluster matches and by his own admission a disappointment since coming back yet is in the title picture.

This shoot interview got Steiner in a lot of trouble with WCW management and according to Steiner had Flair in the back crying like a bitch

I wouldn't blame Sting for Rude's injury... That was a regular move... The reason he got hurt was because that step was in the way.... Rude was insured by Lloyd's of London... So he was ight....

The funniest part of it was that Steiner had nothing to do with Flair at the time....no feud or matches with him. Steiner's entertainment factor was at an alltime high back then

The difference is JBL is one of Vince's boys, Rude never was. Had he come back, he probably would have gotten a upper card push at first but he would have been jobbed out and out of the company in 2 years.
After all, he had Austin, Rock, Taker, HHH, and Kurt Angle, he wouldn't have felt like he needed Rick Rude.
