Jimmy Carter just endorsed Obama. The rhetoric from the Democratic party is that Obama is the candidate the unite the party. Also, the margin for HRC is narrowing in Pennsylvania. She will win, but at a narrow margin.

My prediction is that she will also win Indiana, by a narrow margin. But she will lose big in North Carolina. And after that defeat, her campaign will end. This will not go into June. There's not that many delegates left after North Carolina. North Carolina will sink her campaign and the remaining superdelegates will rally behind Obama as a sign of unity.

Oh, and John Kerry WILL NOT be VP. The next VP will be someone with considerable foreign policy experience without a lot of heat behind the name.

Per NBC’s Tom Winter, Gov. Jon Corzine, a Clinton superdelegate, just said on CNBC's Squawk Box that he reserves the right to change his vote from Hillary Clinton if she doesn't have the popular vote. He stopped short of saying that he definitely would change his vote if she lost the popular vote and he did strongly emphasize that Sen. Clinton would win the popular vote in the end.

Sen. Maria Cantwell, another Clinton super, has said similar things regarding the popular vote.

I don't see an endorsement from Jimmy Carter yet. I saw an article that says he may endorse him soon. Where is the link to the endorsement:confused:

Damn Jimmy Carter is an ultra leftist though....dayummm.....

It will make the ultra leftists happy anyway. If you haven't noticed, there are tons of tree huggers and 'animals are people too' types in the democrat party. The point is, his endorsement is key because he is a former president.

To Clarify, Jimmy Carter "endorses" Obama without formally "endorsing" him. He made this comment on Thisdayonline about how his entire family is rooting for Obama and gave strong hints that he's rooting for him too. It's really political, but I'll give you the quote in a minute.

This is Jimmy Carter's quote. And he said this in a Nigerian newspaper like no one from the US would get a hold of this:

We are very interested in the primaries. Don’t forget that Obama won in my state of Georgia. My town, which is home to 625 people, is for Obama, my children and their spouses are pro-Obama. My grandchildren are also pro-Obama. As a superdelegate, I would not disclose who I am rooting for but I leave you to make that guess.
:hmm:

Carter's known as a revered philanthropist, but also as the last failed Democrat President. Ironically it was the economy and beef in the middle east that undermined his presidency. That's probably why he stopped short of a full on endorsement... his record would be used against Obama as a reminder of the bad old days with Dems. We'll see what mileage his supportive words get. :dunno:

I'm here in NC and our local Obama headquarters
gave me a call yesterday. They want me to come in,
and work the phones and hit the pavement here in NC!
I remember the mood here at local headquarters after the Kerry/Edwards
campaign.:smh: Went down there yesterday and the place is buzzing
with energy!....People young and old getting registered....yep here in
NC were excited,united and ready.

That's the point He all but said it. Why not just say it?

Because Carter's presidential record is not too good. AND, he was the last Democratic president that had a Democratic majority in Congress. I can actually remember sitting in a car that was in a line a block long, trying to get some gas. I was really young, but that sparked something in me.

Plus, I remember like it was yesterday when Reagan was getting sworn in and the hostages were being set free at the same time. That split screen, at 9 years old, made me think about the stupidity of voting a straight ticket. I remember how my mother couldn't give me a good answer as to why Carter couldn't free those hostages, but the day Reagan was sworn in, those terrorists freed them.

See? It was Carter's Presidency that sparked the Republican revolution. But his approval of Obama overseas does wonders for Obama. Carter is seen as a peacemaker. Remember, he was the one that brokered the Egypt-Israel peace accord that is still in effect right now.
