I'm a Firefighter and worked task forces in Oakland for rioting.I've seen it with my own eyes.The demonstration for Oscar Grant was largely peaceful until dozens of hippy looking white folks with backpacks started coming in.Even when you look at the videos or pictures of people arrested, you will see mainly white folks.Additionally,if you live in Oakland you will frequently see posters/notices posted up for "demonstrations" for various injustices.9 times out of 10 its a white hippy looking group.

Didn't get any pictures today but shit was going down. About 600-800 folks came out, marched through the city. Took over the freeway. Cops were way the fuck outnumbered until they brought in backup from neighboring cities.
I can't speak for other cities, but here, this isn't just about Trayvon. It's a continuation of the frustration and outrage from the murder of Oscar Grant and the continuing state execution of Black Boys. The devaluation of their lives.
