NY: MTA eyeing 2017 bus, subway fare hike to $3, hopes to raise more than $300M

The white people that are making these business decisions see the benefit in racism and class-ism. They don't give fuck about poor people, it's "fuck you, pay me" all the way through and through. The naive poor white people that are so worried about Muslims, they are getting ripped off by their so called "fellow" white brother.

I'd like to see a detailed financial statement that includes those nice juicy salary increases for the higher ups.
They think its smart because they fail to see how we are all connected and how shitting on the poor will eventually catch up to the rich, this country has almost collapsed several times because of this backwards ass thinking and yet no matter how many times they cry when things go wrong, those mother fuckers never learn...

I miss none of that nonsense. I started taking the metro north & express bus just to avoid having to use the subway for its daily shenanigans. I love NY for its vibe and diversity but fuck NY expenses.

that metro and express bus aint cheap though fam damn !

They get 10 million rides per day and can't turn a profit
The MTA is one of the most mismanaged companies in the U.S.
Money is being stolen at an alarming rate

The MTA is always crying broke yet every few years a report comes out on how they are sitting on a pile of cash. :smh:
Remember that year they were crying broke?
then they JUST happened to find a surplus of millions,
when they were pressed to check their books again,
then they STILL hiked the fares up!

^^^ This. Agreed.

I wish the Feds would audit the MTA books and find out how much money is being paid to government 'cronies' and Mafia-run Construction Companies. :hmm:

That's the real problem. No oversight. :smh:
So the fare goes up every 2-3 years. Consistently.

Eliminate all the bullshit transit project 'scams' & 'no-show' contracts.... and the NYC MTA Subways would prolly run like clockwork.

CHURCH

I can't even begin to tell you about the corruption in the MTA. All those civil agencies are rotten as hell but the MTA is totally unregulated; they answer only to themselves. Lying, thieving bastards.

The mta are the biggest crooks look at their board members salaries, just off the Verrazano bridge alone which is a $17 cash toll just for cars alone, forget about tractor trailers that starts at $32 and can go all the way to $128. You save a few dollar with ez pass big deal. Imagine how much they make daily from 1 bridge, they got tunnels other bridges, subways, buses and not to mention those pricer express buses...c'mon shun

They audit them every decade or so and they always have like 3 sets of books. Millions appear and disappear with regularity. Except when it's time to pay the workers, then they can't find a crumb. One problem is they are under three different entities: city, state, fed. I don't need to tell you the type of fuckery that goes on in that set-up.

Actually, I believe The Straphangers have said, and proven, the subways and buses can run FARE-FREE! You wouldn't believe the revenue they make on advertising alone. It's the only civil agency that is revenue generating.

They definitely weren't but the convenience and peace of mind were worth the extra money

Oh my friend trust I know.

and yes its worth it

I am STILL pissed as f*ck that they took away the 30 day unlimited plus express.

I went without lunch just to make sure I got that each month.

Damn when did they do that? That was the best option when I was getting metro cards. I used to have my job deduct part of my paycheck to purchase those monthly cards. Damn my NY brethren are getting their wallets raped with no vaseline

fam for a few YEARS now

it was a best kept secret and NO ONE in NJ/NJ pitched a fit so of course it went...

that messed up my travel budget royal but the pre-tax helps.

The amount they make off tolls alone is beyond ridiculous. Worst part is the bridges stay fucked up or under construction. I was in NY about 2 weeks ago and was in agony for my car cuz them damn potholes & uneven sections of road were fucking up my shocks and rims without mercy.

you aint lying

They're trying to pay for that 2nd Ave subway extension that they've been trying to build for the last 15 years and the 7 train extension that they just finished.
That and all those folks with those high ass pensions. Worst shit NY ever did was not fully taking over the MTA.
That shit is constantly fucked up and for what?
