Nuggets deal Boykins, Hodge to Bucks for Blake

i just posted this in your other nuggets thread.

steve blake is a reliable PG who can push the ball. not the scorer that earl boykins is, but gives you a little deep threat too. he may not get a whole lot of tick anyway.

I was a bit skeptical at first but I like the deal, the bucks need another scorer in the backcourt with mo williams out for a bit and the nuggets needed to dump salary it appears and also get solid play off the bench. Blake wont get much burn but he wont kill you when he's out there. Besdies Earl didnt figure to play much anyway after Melo comes back so why not?

This trade was probably made for that exception as much as
anything else. Now Denver might be able to sign Webber too

I know Earl doing cartwheels though. He gets to play fulltime
and he gets to shoot. Even when Redd and Mo Williams get
back he will see plenty of action. Williams is a walking casualty
unlike Andre Miller who was indestructable

Webber would actually fit in with the Nuggets. Denver gets MURDERED at PF, and when (if) KMart comes back, you put Webber on the bench and have him as a sixth man.

You have to monitor CWebbs minutes though. He can still be productive, but playing him more than 30 minutes a game for extended periods of time will kill him.

After watching him play a few games..I'm pleasntly suprised. He's hit some clutch shots and is a stabilizing factor at the Point Guard.

He will get more time than you think. I feel that this affects J.R. Smiths numbers. A.I. will still play 40-45 minutes a game. When Blake comes in,,A.I. goes to SG.

Blake is the only PG left on the roster (with any experience)
he will have to play by default unless they go with Iverson
at the point 100% of the time

(which is why I picked him up in BGOL Ballas, lol)

Meanwhile, Boykins has hit a wall for the Bucks. Don't know
what to make of it. Maybe he's just better suited to come off
the bench

They may have to bring Smith off the bench. Blake is a stabilizing force in the lineup, and is more consistent than Smith. besides bench doesn't have that much scoring to begin with. Smith might be better being the sixrth man. He'd have less pressure on him.

Boykins sholud never be a starter. He was always better as a spark plug off the bench.
