‘Avatar’ sequel planned for 2014

James Cameron has warned Avatar fans it may be another four years before they see the next part of the planned sci-fi trilogy – because he’s still writing “tons of notes” to develop the sequel.

The Titanic director began drafting the alien-human love story in 1994 – 15 years before it hit the big screen last December and shattered worldwide box office records.

Fans are already clamouring to find out what’s next for Sam Worthington’s character, Jake Sully, and his Na’vi lover Neytiri, played by Zoe Saldana, but, according to the New York Post, he isn’t planning to release the first Avatar sequel until 2014.

Cameron tells the publication, “Right now, the thinking is that (films) two and three are going to be done together. They’ll be released separately, probably a year apart or maybe even two, but they’ll be done in a bunch.

“I’m mapping out the story line right now, so there’s a proper arc that plays out over two films, but (it) buttons nicely at the end of two, so you don’t get this horrible second-act Matrix feeling – you know: ‘I’ve just sat through a three-hour movie and f**k all happened at the end!’”

Avatar has so far earned $2.7 billion in box office revenue worldwide, a figure which is expected to skyrocket when the film is re-released for a limited-run on Friday, featuring nine minutes of never-before-seen footage.

i saw it in theaters and was absolutely amazed by the visuals.

i have 0 desire to watch that movie outside of the the theater though

I've watched it twice since I saw it opening weekend at the theather! Great movie just to long to watch in one sitting at home to me! I might watch it again by breaking it up into 2 diff parts!

I got the Bluray and the shit still dope. The effects are flawless. Also Transformers 2 end of movie fight screens were the best I seen. I see something new everytime I watch it. Bumble Bee was fucking them up. He pulled the spine outta that cat. Optimus shot Megatron in the face with his own gun. He snatched the Fallen's heart out from the back and crushed it in his face. Megatron started calling Starscream like a lil bitch.

didnt see the hype when i saw it in imax 3d and i still dont get the hype. i will say the sound effects were amazing, but the movie along with the 3d was overrated.

Co-sign!
I liked the fight in the woods were they jumped Prime and he yelled out, "I'll take you all on!" Peter Cullen's voice is dope!

Nothing more than a story about the Cowboys and Indians.

Very good action movie that I boot legged, then went and paid to see twice.

Dunno if I'd actually buy the dvd since I don't have a hi def setup.

after seeing it couple times, the special effects aren't anything to go crazy for, its the same shit i've seen in other movies

I didn't like it @ 1st and then found myself watching it again 5X more on a regular tv/projector screen...it grew on me by using a tried & true basic formula that's been used in other movies

its a pretty good movie thats about it, commercials go as fara s callin the greatest movie of all time, NOT! it was good but it wasnt that hot

my favorite character was the army general, he was a beast, thats my role model lol

Yeah.

The only way to see "AVATAR" is in theaters in IMAX.
Can't imagine watching it any other way.

Very few movies have that type of theater sensibility.
Cameron knew exactly what he was doing.

I really think that Zoe Saldana gave a brilliant (award-worthy) performance, in an entertaining, high-tech "Indians-get-payback-on-cowboys" film.

I've watched it a bunch of times at home and once in the theater. Did'nt like the theater experience because I don't wear glasses and them shits felt like they weighed a ton and were crushing the bones in my nose so I had to hold them up off my face for most of the movie.

If you didn't see it in 3D or Imax you didn't see it the way it was supposed to be seen.

That was the highlight of the movie and that's why I liked TF2

True. I still dug it on bootleg, its an amazing movie.

I tell you what's crazy.

I remember going to a Rave movie theater, opening weekend, with just a few cats in the movie with me. I felt like I was ahead of the curve on this movie. Thus, this movie holds a special place in my heart..
