This is how terms get destroyed everytime..a bunch of individuals start overusing a term and don’t actually know what it means than eventually it’s so overused in a wrong way that the original meaning is lostI don’t think you know what culture vulture means

Sometimes the label does it. If a young new upstart comes up with a hit, and the label has an established popular artist who hasn't had a hit in a long time and can't sellout a phonebooth, they'll take the song away from the newbie. A lot of times, they'll let the artist know their intentions, and sometimes, if they can't come to an agreement, they'll just take the shit. It's the music industry and it happens everyday someone steals something, he should of sued back in the day.

Going by the name Biggie Smalls until he got sued by Calvin Lockhart for using the character name from Lets Do It Again movie. So he changed his name to Notrious B.I.G..

Juicy Fruit was a favorite DJ cut to play during basement, clubs or school dances parties. DJ's would blend, scratch and spin back the brakes long before Puff put BIG on the track.

Speaking of Marley, here's a example of an on air blend mix of Surface - Only you can Make me Happy.
