The start of a new year is a good starting point for changes we wish to make in our lives. A two-parter:
1) How would you grade your 2008? Did you reach goals/achieve things you wanted?
2) What do you want to do differently/change/improve upon, etc. in 2009?
For Myself:
1) I would have to grade the year as a C+.
2) For 2009: First, best course is to plan "Achievable" goals:

For Myself:
1) I would have to grade the year as a C+.
- While I did start a new position with more salary, the position has been full of stress and problems (which I knew some of in the beginning, but I was so eager to leave my previous position and did not realize the extent of the inherent problems).
- The economy. Enough said, took a hard hit. I also had a very stressful period where I had to look for new digs to live.
- Too much drama in personal life, I need to extricate myself from the quicksand I find myself mired in right now. Also did not achieve all goals I had set for myself in 2008.
2) For 2009: First, best course is to plan "Achievable" goals:
- Will not let work affect me as much, starting to get a handle on this position.
- Try to ride out the economic downturn, things will get rougher for me for a while yet. Plan on spending MUCH LESS money on frivolous things and much less in general (already started did almost no Christmas shopping). Have to try to replenish savings.
- Become truer to myself: will go out much less and mainly keep to myself and focus on improving myself. Will focus on learning new things (if not formal courses, will try to learn as much for free or online as possible).
- Give up on a lot of people who have shown to be either: useless, a drag on me, leeches, full of drama, or just negative in general. Will not worry about hanging with other folks, re-learn to appreciate being just by myself.
- Make use of "me" time - find time to relax. Take advantage of my city and others close by for unwind time, if I cannot afford the big trips.
- Work on my cooking skills - I go out too much as it is, it will give me something else to learn and improve upon.
- Will learn to use chopsticks better (tired of my friends making fun of me when we go out - LOL)
