I put a cell phone for sale on ebay, about a day later I get an e-mail saying item sold, etc, etc.

Then I get these e-mails.

since morning,but i have my system crashed. i want to inform you that a full payment has been
made via paypal for the item.I'll like you to get back to me concerning the shipping because

ship urgently, i've added extra amount for the postage and insurance, which I think will be enough for

Also I got e-mails from supposedly paypal and ebay claiming he's a legit buyer, and saying that if I didn't ship the item they will take legal action, I'm just like ---> :hmm:

If you got the money, just send them the phone. Maybe I misread what you wrote, but what the hell was the reason to post this if you got the money? Please tell me you didn't do it to get some attention.
 
Are you retarded or do you not know how Ebay and Pay Pal Works? If the money is in your account it cannot be withdrawn by him. Are you stupid?
 
Don't send the item , its an old scam that surprisingly still catches people off guard. the emails are fake emails no matter how good they look they are fake. the reason he wants a fast posting is because he wants you to post the item and by the time you realise the emails are fake and ebay and paypal know nothing of these the item would be long gone.

Nah, look at the screen shot again, the paypal e-mail it's fake, I don't think paypal uses Gmail to send payment notifications...

The point it's that they are getting better at it...:smh:

That's the thing my paypal account has only 2 dollars leftover from my last withdrawal (sept 28) and no other transaction pending.

Next time just set your auction to prevent people from buying outside of the USA. I do that on all of my auctions. Shipping shit through customs is a hassle so i dont mess with it.

Same shit happened to me on craigslist when I put my iPod on there. I was like "Nigeria?"...Bitch please.
 
DO NOT send the phone at all.....you have the right idea being skeptical. The real reason they need the phone so fast is because they have stolen credit card information and paypal will deduct the funds from your account within a few days saying the information was fraudulent. So sit back and chill and get ready for the money to be taken back from your account. Nigeria and malaysia/philippines deal in massive fraud. Payment from those two places, among a few others, is a serious red flag.

Edit: I read that the money never "made" it to your account so nevermind.

There was no need to apologize. The post was clear.

Those fellows started knocking your post when they should have asked questions. They could have read the post again to see what exactly you were saying. I hate when people do that shit.

Your post is informative and alert others to be aware when they are selling stuff online. I never sold anything so I wasn't aware of it. But I have been a victim of phishing so seeing another thing to be aware of is helpful
