That's the problem if your trying to be cheap you may want to grab a hoodrat. Before I was making as much as I am now I was happy to get anything. The more you make the more you know how much stuff cost and how much EFFORT the guy put into the gift. The only way to get out of spending alot would be to give a gift from the heart. A gift reminding her of some special momment in both your lives. And if all else fails come in the room naked with a bow wrapped around your balls.

i just used slippers as far as what i myself could appreciate. i appreciate any gift. the gesture is what i appreciate more....
i'm sure he doesn't mean as in buying something from the dollar store. At the same time i'm sure he doesn't want to spend a few hundred as well.
i'm sure a woman can receive a 50-75 dollar gift and consider it acceptable. if she can't, you need to question the validity of your relationship (especially if she's not your wife)

I don't want to start splitting hairs. My POINT is if money is an issue you can achieve the best response from a sensible gift if its from the HEART. As far as gifts for family I always hit them up with cheap ass gifts. Every year its those $20 - $30 lotion and soap gift sets.

Perfume in a scent that you like, a 1 hour massage or 2 hours if you go to a massage school, a sexy pair of stilettos, Frederick's gift certificate, a nice dinner and flowers, one of those evening dinner cruises, a gift basket with bubble baths and stuuf. You can do so much with $100. But if you want to do something really nice for cheap: order her favorite take out and have dinner at your place. In another room (preferably your bedroom), have a long table, cover it with one of those mattress pads and a satin sheet, buy some oils that warm up when you rub your hands together, and give her a massage yourself. It will lead to more by the end of the night

Since when is $100 some shit to sneeze at? I probably wont get shit for Christmas. She is a doctor and just starting out. I didnt accept anything from her while she was in school and wont take anything now.

the way you talk, you make someone think that youre a investment banker managing a billion dollar hedge fund. please, nurses make good money, but dont front like youre making between $200k-1,000,000. remember where you come from. shit, where i come from, $100 was a dream gift.

I'm the first to make it past ninth grade in my family so believe me I know where I've come from. Besides I was responding to this thread the way it was written and if money is an issue don't go finding the cheapest gift. Get something that only you and that person would understand, something that could help to define or revisit the best part of your relationship....I'm no gold digger or snob if that's what your trying to say.
Unfortunately, there aren't that many that are black owned and reputable.
The Nseya one is the most popular here in Atlanta.
There is one called TooGroovy in Midtown and I was never clear whether or not they were black owned.
