Ran across this article about this particular disease that is undergoing more intense scrutiny. This strikes at home because i ran into a young lady several years ago that had this problem. I got to know her pretty well and she knew i was interested in her. She was nice, had a corporate job, cute, nice body, all the niceties. We got to know each other pretty well and when she was ready for to me hit, she said, "I have to let you know this. I have HPV in my vagina and gives me problems. I develop cysts and nodules and i am under a doctors care, I have them removed cryogenically."

I thanked her for letting me know and call my buddy an internal medicine guy to ask what HPV is,if I could hit. He said, "NO, leave that one alone, not even with a rubber", because any contact with bodily fluids and you could contract it. Needless to say from that day forward I stopped fucking with loose hos. I got one and forget the rest. I got her to understand what the shit is and it definitely froze her ass from being stupid.

I thank the young lady for telling me, cause she could not have told me.

I supplied some links to this info for those who are skeptical.

This is projected to hit epidemic levels with the coming generation. Its actually pretty common with woman now. From what i remember reading its nearly harmless in men (it may potentially cause warts though if memory serves me correctly) but we can be carriers and infect woman. The woman then have the potential to develop cervical cancer. Last i heard the government was attempting to make a vaccination mandatory within the next decade in hopes of eradicating it. I personally know several woman with it. One of which has to get "dead cells" frozen and removed from her cervical wall to preemptively address any potential issues.

The condition is rare, but the virus that causes it isn't. Over the past 25 years, scien*tists have learned that HPV in*fections are as common as colds and responsible for a va*riety of health problems. There are more than 120 types of HPV, and everybody carries at least a few. Many are harm**less, but others can be life threatening.

Some are sexually trans*mitted, but these viruses are so infectious that they can be transmitted through casual touch, too, given the right cir*cumstance. Studies show that 75 percent of U.S. adults have contracted a genital HPV in*fection by age 50. The most obvious and dan*gerous infections strike women. When left untreated, HPV infections of the cervix can evolve into cancer. That's why more than 50 million U.S. women undergo Pap tests an*nually.

HPV can also cause cancers of the penis, anus, skin, throat, neck, tongue, tonsils, lungs and larynx. The virus can strike wherever our bodies come in contact with the world -- our skin externally and mucosal tissue internally.

Worldwide, HPV kills about 1,200 men and women every day, primarily through can*cers. In the United States, HPV rivals its distant relative HIV in running up billions of dollars a year in medical costs, according to one recent study.

Its nothing like HIV. HIV breaks down your immune system and sends you through a set of horrid stages before death. Doctors have known about HPV for a while, probably as long as HIV.

Nothing like HIV, but something to watch out for.

While HPV is serious. You should notice the amount of vaccine commercials about HPV by the pharmaceutical companies. See the connections. They are in the business of selling bullshit to keep people scared and buying their product to keep raking in billions. In reality you're still more likely to hit it big in Vegas than get HPV.

Most people already have genital warts. . . . and herpes is getting up there in the over 50% realm too. You probably already got it. Most likely you have one of the non-cancer causing kind.

But yeah, condoms do nothing, because it's pubic area thing.

Why you spreading bullshit. Most people don't have genital warts. The fuck outta here.

hpv has always been the most common and prevalent std out there.
you could be infected for years before you develop symptoms.
warts/bumps are the most visible however there are no tests for it in men
and you can pass that shit back and forth for a minute.

it's not the next epidemic....it has always been around.
now they are doing trials for the vaccine in males like they have it for females.
it won't cure you if you have hpv already but it would protect from future infection (note: the target is the young who haven't started having sex yet...you 30? fuggedaboutit)
