With the news of the temporary absence of Alex Rodriquez (pending surgery, recomended by noted 'hip specialist', Dr. Marc Philippon,w/ Steadman-Hawkins Clinic, Vail,Colorado), comes news that this surgery is phase #1. It will be completed at the end of the season (hopefully, post-season). Yankee GM, Brian Cashman, was quoted, '...the surgery that will repair the labrum tear right now will shorten his rehab. Then following the conclusion the season, (the doctor is) going to repair the remaining aspects that need to be repaired"......hence, Phase#2, the conclusion!

The 2009 season hopefully will see several Yankees producing like their breathren of the past, or a revival of past Mojo's, i.e., Bernie Williams, Scott Brosius, et al. Since players like C.C. Sabathia, A.J. Burnett, Jorge Posada, Robinson Cano, H.Matsui, and Mark Teixiera will step up their game. After all, they're getting the 'big bucks'! Lets hope their actions produce a best case scenario, and eliminate the opposite.

Take the pressure off Cody Ransom, age 33(3B), and just hope he will be today's version of Scott Brosuis. It was no-name players like Ransom
in the past that salvaged what was thought to be a 'lost' season.
