Don't act like the early 90s X-Men didn't retell quite a bit of the the X-Men mythology too. Also, I find it interesting that for all the people that thought Evolution was bad/weak they never acknowledge that is was actually alot less kiddy than the early 90s version. It also featured better character development (and more fluid animation, but I'll chalk that up to technology being better in the 2000s over the 1990s).

Add me to the list of those who enjoyed Evolution. The 90s version of X-Men, while I do own all the episodes, is more of a nostalgia thing. Evolution was a better crafted show in my opinion.

Key thing to note...BOTH shows took quite a number of liberties on the X-Men mythology is you're going to compare them to the comics.

Well if we're talking about replacing Xavier here, since Xavier wasn't much of a combatant type... yes.

I don't see anything that would affect Beasts decisions as a leader, whereas if it were Cyclops... he's too emotionally attached to Jean.

Storms efforts to lead would fall short in a "tight" situation since she's claustrophobic.

the dramatic rock music only masks the corny dialogue.

and what makes it corny is that the voice actors sound dead. i'd be lying if i said i wouldnt check it out. but my hopes are not high.

They did do a 2 or 3 parter age of apocalypse type thing on the cartoon on Fox. That joint was the shit...with the exception of the animation in the last season...Its like they went the sleep. I never saw an entire episode of that last season....weak animation.

Yeah but that was like some hybrid shit because wolverine still had both hands though I do remember night crawler being in his aoa uniform when he teleported gambit from danger and magneto looked ruggid though it wasnt his aoa costume....but thats not what I am talking about there was actually an aoa commercial advertising some x-men action figure line. It had apocalypse in his aoa costume with cape speaking in the background of the advertisement

That. I won't lie. I will check it out, but it doesn't look all that spectacular. Then again, it's not like I'm in the age group they're trying to target anyway, so...

I'm still not clear on why Wolverine is the focus, though. The line-up in that promo image didn't do anything but make me count how many other capable X-Men leaders there are in that picture that he's "leading" (Cyke, Storm, Nightcrawler, one could even argue Emma if they wanted to).

Oh, and if there's one thing I don't feel like seeing, it's whiny, emo Cyclops. I have a hard enough time defending the guy without yet another portrayal of him as a mopey "wah, wah, my girlfriend's dead" loser. But hopefully, that won't be the case.

you must have never read an x men comic, storm led the xmen with and without powers. in the 80's. and xavier was missing for a good chunk of the 80's as well. SHe was blue team leader during the 90's and leader of the xtreme xmen; she is now queen of Wakanda.

Cyclops has been leader of the xmen for the last two years and kicked xavier out the mansion. he also led xfactor. Jean grey has been dead for atleast two yeaars and he is riding with emma frost right now.

after Cyclops left Storm became the leader of the X-men, and during a bout where she lost her powers she stabbed the SHIT out of Calisto and became leader of the Morlocks as well.

this is why i was so pissed over the X-men movies, they made Storm and Psyclops look like extras, and never explored their Chris Claremont personalities.
