Futuristic R&B showstopper Janelle Monáe wowed us at last year's SXSW, and this James Brown-style funk workout is the first single to be taken from her forthcoming album, The ArchAndroid, due May 18 via Wondaland Arts Society/Bad Boy. It features an uptempo groove, blast-off horns, and a guest verse from our friend Big Boi, who reps for MacBooks and thongs. "Tightrope", along with another new one called "Cold War", will be available to purchase on Janelle's site starting this Friday, February 12.

Awww damn those horns are just murder!!! I may cop this young lady's album, I liked her EPs.

Her last CD was awsome!
Not feeling this song (Tightrope) that much (not great, but not bad either),
I'm hoping to hear good things from the CD though.
