It was written is his best album to me tho and trackmasters did that. I am was where the decline started to me. All them pop beats didnt fit himNas is a forever icon at this point. He could walk away and still be in the pantheon of emcees with that respect in any era shit. Not everyone loves his music, but that's subjective and personal. The story of Hip Hop can't be told without Illmatic, it just can't. The longevity and late life show up and show out is just icing on the cake. The business ventures are a testament to human growth that most did not desire to and or just didn't want to follow. I mean dude grew up in the projects and has to be worth $300 million plus.
Salute to that brother, he is Hip Hop. I hope we respect the totality of the story, not just argue over how shitty the Trackmasters were![]()
How we gonna shit on trackmasters?
