ERASED is a fantasy thriller created by Kei Sanbe. The series follows Satoru Fujinuma, a 29-year-old manga artist who possesses an uncontrollable ability that turns back time before a life-threatening accident occurs. When his mom is murdered, Satoru’s ability takes him 18 years in the past, just before a life altering event happened to him. He believes stopping the kidnapping and murder of classmate Kayo Hinazuki will right the timeline.

A-1 Pictures produced a 12 episode anime adaptation with an original ending during the Winter 2016 season. A live-action movie also opened in Japan on March 19, 2016.

Thanks DB. I watch the original anime and the movie before seeing the Netflix one to find out if they fucked it up.

I wish they would have done some Netflix series of episodes with Steven King's The Dark Tower saga. Shit is like 8 books and they made it into a shitty film (great acting by Idris and Matthew though)...

I don't watch anime and didn't know this was an adaptation of an anime, but a few minutes into it I thought "this seems like an anime." I did a search and found this thread. This was really good. This was a perfect example of something they could've tried to make into a movie but they would've had to cram so much into it that it wouldn't have done it justice. There was a moment in the final episode that made me a little uneasy:
When Satoru's mother tells him she saw the note he gave to the little girl, and called him "smooth", I was like "is this lady trying to imply she thinks this 28 year old man has romantic intentions with a 12-13 year old and she's cool with that?
