Nelson Mandela effect.. Ed McMahon did not work for publishers clearing house.. mind blown

There were 2 different companies. I remembered distinctly because my grandmother would get magazine subscriptions through them both and gave me the stamps/stickers to play with. The names were similar and it was the 80s so people would regularly conflate the two as a singular company.

You know you a piece of shit for even posting this, If the "Mandela effect" is even in your sphere of legitimate discourse you are officially a racist!

There’s a whole different thread that I made a spin off thread about this.. someone posted about how the new millennium is not real or some shit.. in it they were talking about how certain things that happened in the past or people think happened in the past didn’t happen.. it was part of the term Mandela effect.. this was 1 of the memories or no memories.. I just found it shocking that this was a thing the Ed McMahon not working for the sweepstakes.. so I just looked up a few things than posted it

HOLY sh*t..

Did Letterman just BUMP Jim Carey off the show!?!?!?!?
Carson was royalty in the entertainment industry at that time… Jim Carrey was still upcoming.. most people probably didn’t see once bitten or earth girls are easy at that time.. he is the white guy on living color for most people..so if Carson wants a segment or extra mins they were gonna give it to him

They claim he never delivered big checks but everybody remembers big checks and he even did tv appearances giving out big checks

The TV appearances were playing himself on various sitcoms.

Even PCH has said that they didn't mind AFP copying them because they realized people thought Ed and Dick Clark were actually working for them.

Hey, he took a back seat to a legend.

No backseat. Its just a small world. Never know who will be who.

Letterman called him James. And yelled it as he was signing off. I wonder how Carey felt at the time.

Dave Never in his wildest thinking that guy he just bumped would become one of the biggest comedic actors of a generation.

Carson Letterman Carey on the same stage.

Generational iconic legendary

Carson retires the war for his spot letterman leaves a war again Carey doesnt gets SNL but is on a little comedy show on an upstart new network that redefined the Super Bowl later hosting snl and breaking box office records.

That's why I try my best to to respect everyone cause you never ever know.
