They Had The Wrong Niggas Defending Rap On That Show, Who They Should Have Had Was Somebody Like Mos Def, Chuck D Or Somebody Like That Not Nelly Or T.I. Those Guys Are Not Good Public Speakers I Could Tell.
They OK, but they just arent good representatives of Hip Hop, because they represent what may be wrong with it..... For the WOMEN in the audience to be in agreeamce with these cats shows that there are some women who dont want things to progress or change.... And they may not want to be respected

POP is not an art form.
POP is when a song is accepted by White People. There are many Art forms that are considered Pop from Visual to Musical.
Hiphop is a Culture. Not Just a type of Music and while you may not like their style, you cant deny that they are not part of the Culture. When you study history you find many different fractions co-existing in the same culture. Even today we have different political parties that exist within our culture. Thats just the way it is.

How can you say TI doesn't Rap? He doesn't sing. TI has a balance in his style. Some for the "pop charts" (pop is a demographic, not a style) and some for the streets.
Nelly does Rap songs for the Pop Charts and Nelly like to mix his singing with rapping but if you get on Nelly for Singing a lot, then you would have hated The Crash Crew. They were the Original Sing Song Rappers and they are Legends.
I guess RUN DMC did Mary Mary. RUN DMC did YOU BE ILLIN'. RUN DMC did WALK THIS WAY. RUN DMC did ITS TRICKY and all those songs were on the POP CHARTS. You gonna say RUN DMC aint Hiphop and they dont Rap? I know a lot of Black people who like Nelly and TI's Music.
These two niggas were getting upset at all the wrong things. Plus, how can you expect somebody to be willing to objectively consider your stance on a subject if you aren't willing to do the same. I didn't hear one rapper say "well, maybe you were right about that. Maybe that was a mistake." It's not like any of these niggas are even in thier 30's or 40's, I mean these are rich young dudes. But being a black male means you have to be a MAN by the time you reach 15 now i guess (legal system sure makes it seem like that is the case, anyhow). How difficult is it to say, "You know I was young and my label and American media steered me towards this but in the future I'll try to do better."
