Need help formating an SD Card

i just bought a Mini SD card for my phone, but i pulled it out while my phone
was formatting it, and now it wont do anything. i tried to format on my computer (usb adapter for card) but it wont work. i need somthing that
can erase it no matter what. also my phone (nokia 6270) acts like it is
formatting it but it goes on for hours saying "formatting memory card".
is this normal??

I think you need a new sd card. You can kill your card by taking it out while your phone is on.
