Need advise /help Streaming Music on website

Fam I am starting a couple of projects and I need to stream music on one of the sites /pages. I want to get some insight on what is the better way to go, host(live 365) or handle it myself. What are some of the apps I could use to host it myself.

There are several options out there but first - Are you streaming your own music or commercial artists?

The reason I ask is because of the legal problems that could arise. I would stick to a 3rd party streaming option if you do not own the rights to the music. There are a quite a few services that allow music embeds like grooveshark.
