Nearly 50,000 pounds of pork sausage recalled nationwide

WASHINGTON — Nearly 50,000 pounds of pork sausage patties and links are being recalled because they may be contaminated with “foreign materials,” according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The pork products were made by Michigan-based Quincy Street, Inc. and shipped nationwide. The company did not give further details about what kind of “foreign material” was found in their food during a routine inspection.

No illnesses have been reported in connection with the recall, the agency said. All recalled products carry the establishment number “EST. 18963″ inside the USDA mark of inspection.
