NEW YORK -- The camps of Philadelphia's RING, WBA and WBC junior welterweight Danny Garcia and his Feb. 9 opponent and ex-titleholder Zab Judah were involved in a near-brawl during Saturday's 3 p.m. press conference at Gallagher's Steak House promoting their clash at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

The father and trainer of Garcia (25-0, 16 knockouts), Angel Garcia, irritated Judah (42-7, 29 KOs) with comments about his career, promising that he would not last more than four or five rounds against his son.

The fighters were separated after nearly 10 minutes and calm was restored, after which Danny Garcia, Angel Garcia and Judah all conducted heated one-on-one interviews with media members.

"Zab is a four-round fighter," said Angel Garcia, "and Danny's going to knock him out in four rounds."

Judah, who was sitting to the left of Garcia, then rose and stood next to the trainer, from whom he had to be separated by former undisputed middleweight champion and Golden Boy partner Bernard Hopkins.

"ICU doesn't discriminate on any patients," said Judah. "If you wanna find out, just keep f--king with me, you [N-word.]"

Both Garcia and Judah will be in attendance at New York's Madison Square Garden for Saturday night's WBA junior middleweight title defense by Austin Trout (25-0, 14 KOs) against four-time, three-division titlewinner Miguel Cotto (37-3, 30 KOs) on Showtime.

Garcia is coming off October's fourth-round stoppage of Mexican four-division titlewinner Erik Morales in a rematch of his unanimous decision victory in March.

The victory over Morales followed Garcia's equally sensational fourth-round technical knockout of Amir Khan in July, which added the RING and WBA belts to his collection.

Once the RING, WBA, WBC and IBF welterweight titleholder as well as the WBO and IBF junior welterweight beltholder, Judah was last in the ring in March, when he stopped previously undefeated Vernon Paris in the ninth round to rebound from a stoppage loss to Khan.

A Brooklyn native who was ringside for Garcia-Morales II, Judah will represent Garcia's sixth consecutive bout against a current or former world titleholder following consecutive decisions over ex-beltholders Nate Campbell and Kendall Holt in April and October of last year, respectively.

Yo Garcia's pops seems to have a talent for getting up in opponents heads. Dude told Zab "take that muthafuckin Janet Jackson hat off"

That being said - Zab doesn't last 6 rounds with Garcia. That left hook of his is murder. Lights out when he lands it flush. He doesn't appear to be a skilled boxer but that can be deceiving because he knows how to subtly work his way in. Anyway dude is mad exciting to watch. Between Broner, Trout, Russel Jr, Garcia and a few other heads I'm probably forgetting, I think we're getting a nice infusion of new blood. After this fight I want to see Garcia take on Rios, Matthyse or rematch with Khan.

:lol::lol: Yo!...Garcia's Pops was droppin' some bombs on Judah.

Like you said, he got in Zab's head good.

Danny was happy as fuck... He's seeing dollar signs!!!:dance::dance:

Philly cats are funny talking shit and BK is trickily business. This makes for good boxing.

:D
Never been much of a fan of Judah's (believed his own hype way too much) but I expect this to be a good fight for as long as it lasts.

Garcia in 5, maybe 6 but Zab will go out fighting and not imploding like he used to do.

True, cause Zab has grown so much.

That niggas pops is hilarious. He shit on Zab hard by hitting with the Truth. Can't wait for the fight. I really hope Zab comes with his A game and doesn't mentally fall apart like he usually does. Zab will out box Danny in the early rounds, but once he feels Garcias power, I think he'll lose confidence and mentally break breakdown and get knocked the fuck out.

As funny as the Janet Jackson comment was, Angel needs to shut the fuck up! I love watching Danny Garcia and I think he's got a chance at a great future ahead of him. But his dad is annoying as fuck. Stick to what you do, training! You're not a promoter or a hype-man and you're definitely not the one in the ring.

Stupid ass statements like this proves the reason why you average 1 post every 2 years! It takes you that long to organize your thoughts, and once you Dude, undiluted stupidity comes out of your mouth!!

GTFOH with this bullshit, go back to Lurking... :hmm:

So why don't you tell me what stupidity came out of my mouth!

Nah you straight homie! That's your opinion, I apologize for referring to your post as stupid... I didn't have the right to do that! You feel the way you feel, and you are entitled to that. This is an open forum, so, continue to speak freely...

I appreciate the apology. I have no problem debating anything with anyone, but at least give me your reasoning before coming at my neck.
