i think the Spurs do the best job of finding over sea players,
1999 draft they got with the 57th pick of the second round Emmanuel Ginobili Italy ! this guy is a top ten player in the league today in my eyes,

I can't argue with that, they seem to find talent that they draft late in the rounds since they always have a good record.

coach popavich (sp?) has a LONG history with european players, possibly being involved in bringing over the 1st. so the spurs would be a natural choice.

but my money would go with the colangelos (both father and son), who have figured out a way to turn a profit by offering non-americans lower paying salaries. too bad it ultimately hurts their product, but what do they care?

That's right ! Greg Popovich is a kind of genius cause he knows exactly how to find those guys and make them play together . As long as he will be spurs coach , San Antonio will always be at the top teams in the NBA . If you take them separately , It doesn't work : Just look at the stats on the starting five ...

RC Buford and Sam Presti (now with Seattle) should be given credit for the scouting job that the Spurs have done as they helped build the last 2 title teams.

John Nash's old crew - Steve Patterson (no longer with the team) and Kevin Pritchard (Portland) have done a phenomenal job the past 3 years assembling talented, character guys, TEAM guys for the Trail Blazers.

I also think that New Orleans GM Jeff Bower has done a great job the past few years.
