I am asking because it is interesting to see where people are at with this subject. I would say if you didn't watch them don't name them.

Gerald Mccallum? I think you meant Gerald McClellan or Mike McCallum.

Buk, do you mean saw live on TV or watch tape afterward, I've seen fights from the early 1900's, seriously, does that count.:dunno:

I was thinking it would be fighters you saw either way. I just hope the list is not made of a fighter you just saw five fights or less on espn classic. When I say that I mean like me saying sugar Ray Robinson and I have only seen him fight five fights on espn.

I never saw bramble or Jackson making anyone's list before. I loved watching livingston fight. But never thought of him like this. Good list. Oscar made big fights but lost at least half of them.

Nah my collection is extensive. Anyway my list is longer than 10 but I'll squeeze it down. Best boxers I ever saw in no order.

Ali
Sugar Ray Robinson
Roberto Duran
Marvin Hagler
Ray Leonard
Mike McCallum
James Toney
Terry Norris
Pernell Whitaker
Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Notable mentions:

Roy Jones
Julio Cesar Chavez
Tommy Hearns
Wilfred Benitez
Felix Trinidad
Meldrick Taylor
Alexis Arguello
Juan Manuel Marquez

This is a tough one. I have a top ten talent wise, but it definitely doesn't match up w/ my top ten watchable fighters. I can't make this list:angry::confused:

Good one, buk. I'm going by the top 10 most entertaining instead of most talented or best fighters

In no particular order

Pacquiao
Mayweather Jr
Ali
Whitaker
Ray Leonard
Hagler
Roy Jones
Aaron Pryor
James Toney
Evander Holyfield

Really enjoyed Riddick Bowe until he got fat
Wanted to include Winky but I couldn't see anyone I'd replace him with
Same with Hopkins who is more than willing to turn a boxing match into a wrestling match
Larry Holmes was a favorite of mine as a young kid. Dude was smooth
I'm surprised Mike Tyson hasn't been mentioned yet. He didn't have a lot of great fights (the one with Evander and...)but he brought an air of excitement that's never been recreated. He wasn't the boxer Holmes was but his star power and presence overshadowed Holmes so bad that people act like the heavyweight title went from Ali to Tyson.

Not in any particular order. More based on talent and entertainment value, technical expertise.

Ricardo Lopez
Juan Manuel Marquez
Meldrick Taylor
Sugar Ray Leonard
Muhammad Ali
Floyd Mayweather
Marvin Hagler
Thomas Hearns
A Prime James Toney
Lennox Lewis
Roy Jones Jr (strickly on athletism) - 10a

Winky suffers from being shut out of big fights and him sitting at home thinking that would force the fights to come to him.

Tyson had a lot of potential, but he got lazy, lost a lot of his prime due to going to jail, and was protected by promoters with a lot of bum fights. It's sad but he knocked niggas out so fuck it.

1.) Salvador Sanchez - Used to whip Little Red Lopez ass. This was back when boxing came on Saturday afternoons on NBC.

2.) Ray Leonard - Always thought he was soft...and then he usually fucked somebody up.

3.) Simon "Real Beast" Brown - Nigga was Mini Mike Tyson.

4.) Hagler - I'm from South Jersey and was around when there was ONLY Prism...now Starz, and I watched him fight and beat the BIG THREE from Philly (Willie Monroe, Bennie Briscoe, Bobby Watts).

5.) Aaron "The Hawk" Pryor - Drug induced or not...he whupped on Arguello.

6.) Meldrick Taylor - He pitty-patted the shit out of you...but he always did it. Last time I saw him was a few years ago yelling at people, with the Black Hebrews, walking past the Gallery Mall in Philly.

7.) De La Hoya - I liked him at the lighter weights...he used to whip ass and take names.

8.) Trinidad - He was exposed by Hopkins...but before then he was knocking the noodles out of dudes heads.

9.) Holyfield - Fought his ass off at all times.

10.) Larry Holmes - Boxed the shit out of people...shoulda known they were gonna give that title to Spinks if it meant saving Marciano's record.
