My upcoming film

So I posted a while about a year ago about doing an indiegogo for my film, rose about $3k for it. Put up about $70k of my own bread to get the movie done. I wrote the script, shot it on my red camera, hired crew, actors ( featuring some of yall's crush and my friend Tahiry Jose, as well asLea Robinson), etc.. And got the film completed January this year. I applied to quite a few film festivals and got selected to the Big Apple Film Festival. I took home the gold with the Best Feature Film award, my first festival period and we were up against a bunch of Caucasian films, including one starring Steven Spielberg's son. I'm keeping a red carpet screening for the film in September in NYC, if the film is the type of shit you'd be into or feel like bringing the family out and supporting, DM me and I'll send the ticket link. Ticket comes with complimentary champagne, food, popcorn, and the screening of the film. Looking to figure out distribution later this year. Learned a lot, planning on filming a horror film next year.

It's called "Butterfly", A film about Jericha, a Bronx teenager raised by her hardworking immigrant mother, who can't seem to catch a break. Between bullying, her friends in dangerous situations, and her home in limbo, she turns to dance to block out the noise and free herself.

You haven't had your fill of nude women (tall, short, fat, skinny, white, black, brown, yellow, fully and partially functioning types) on BGOL? :D :D:D Go support the brother's movie.

Lmao. First question answer.... hellllll no.
Ain't sci-fi, kungfu, fantasy.....imma need at least a wet Tshirt or some hard nipples to keep my attention.

Second question answer...... Ok

This looks like a good movie. I like watching indie movies because they seem to be better than the mainstream ones.

I hope your movie will someday get national recognition that it could be worldwide in movie theaters.

Maybe your work might get you a chance to work at tyler perry studio one day.

I wish this movie success.

Appreciate that I manage to get the movie 80% to where I wanted it. An extra 30k would've made it perfect in my eyes, but the private screening and the film festival screening all had good reviews so I'm looking forward to the public finally seeing it. The hope is that I do get a theater distribution deal, praying on it.

That being said, I'm pretty sure that if it doesn't get theater distribution, it'll likely end up on netflix, hbo, apple tv, or amazon prime. I have contacts that have already reached out to me about pitching it to their networks, but I'm waiting until my screening has passed before entering discussions.

Good luck, I hope you get a distribution theater deal.

The key thing you made something, it exist, now it is considered content, just off that alone some company or companies will pick it up and add it to their portfolio/ playlist.. content is key and you have created that..congratulations on what you accomplished so far and wish you nothing but more success in the future for this project and others

Hey, congrats! If I were still living in the DMV I'd definitely be there for the opening. Any chance of a release or screening in ATL? If not how do I purchase a copy/DVD?

I'll know more after the screening once I have distribution figured out. Also was planning to do a state by state tour if I don't get a theater deal. I'd go state by state and screen the film in a theater there for a weekend. I'll update once I'm at that stage.

Real talk, it's news like this that makes me love being a part of BGOL.

As a budding screenwriter, you've given me inspiration to keep going. There's a lot of talent on here, I wish we could bring it together though.

Congratulations, Brother. I wish you much success.
I appreciate it, and yea man. Just buckle down and do it. I've been working on the script about a year and a half prior, growing tired of filming the celeb scene and knew if I was going to ever get what I desire, I have to build my own. So definitely just getting the film done alone was a major accomplishment, seeing and hearing positive reactions in the theater from the audience was also a proud moment for me. So it's just given me even more determination to push further. Hope you bring your stories to light and let em shine as well!
