Damn!! I can't believe I slept on this whole thread. I catch it up.

Our landlord tried to evict us. The problem was that he lied to the courts about serving us with the necessary documents. He also tried to evict the owner of the house too. We got the eviction quashed the day before it was about to be served, five minutes before the police station closed.

That night at about 10 I saw his car blocking my car into the driveway. Next thing you know 4 police cars showed up. He told the cops my car had stolen tags and that I was a fugitive from out of state. He also had my roommate arrested on a trumped up assault charge. He couldn't back anything up so the police ignored me. They let my roommate go later that night.

The owner then tried to charge us rent higher than what the last landlord did. She told us if she didn't get it immediately she would have her nephew evict us. This guy was a huge cat who may have caught some bodies. He was also homeless. We let him crash on the couch and shared our food with him. His aunt was trying to hit him up for money. In the end we formed a very necessary friendship.

Not long after, we confirmed what we suspected all along. The 'owner' never owned the house in the first place. He sister who lived out of state did. She sold it to a real estate company. The new owner paid us to leave. We never paid rent there again.

In the end we couldn't get a place together, but we did all move to better places. One roommate and I live across the street from each other on Treasure Island. Another went to Marin County, another went Downtown SF and the last one stayed in Oakland.
