That's my juicer

I try to stay close as possible to the raw state

For those that juice though

Juice is a bonus, not a replacement. Unless your digestion is compromised or you’re on a cleanse, you don’t want to use juice as a replacement for your whole veggies. Juice is a supplemental way of getting more nutrients. You still need the fiber from the whole food.

Juices lose their nutritional value almost immediately. If you can’t drink it immediately, drink it within one to two hours of juicing. Store juices in a refrigerator with as little air in the container as possible (the air causes oxidation and speeds spoilage).

Avoid fruit and starchy vegetable juices (beet, carrot). They have way too much sugar. The ideal ratio of non-starchy vegetable to starchy-vegetable or fruit is 4:1.

If size isn't an issue, I'd say the Nutribullet is a good choice. It doesn't just juice stuff. It claims to keep all of the enzymes and fiber and all that when you use it.

Although you asked specifically for a juicer, I'll second the Nutribullet. I have a Juiceman 2, and haven't used it since we bought the Nutribullet. Cleanup is so much easier and my shakes/smoothies are much more filling/pleasing than any juice I ever made. Plus no wasting pulp.

Thanks all, yeah I was reading up on this oxidation and juciers that manage to retain nutrients and all that oxidation crap, was like "Why this shit has to be so complicated."

Might just stick to eating the damn veggies steamed or washed at best.

what kind of juicer also makes smoothies????????

and if you looking for one that does wheat grass as far as i know you are going to have to get one of those masculating ones what are also quieter than the the breville ones

I've been using a Brevel Juice Fountain for nearly 5 years now. Can't do wheatgrass with my model. That's why I'm in the market to upgrade.

I'm assuming if they have ones that make soft food then they can make smoothies as well.

I just had banana, ginger, beet, kale and some various powders but I def believe my sugar intake too high especially since at times I make ones with more fruit, oatmeal, almond milk.

Perhaps need to find good recipes for my body type and maybe blood type.

I have the Breville 800JEXL, bought 2 years ago, was $299, got from Bed Bath Beyond with a 20% coupon for $240. That's about the best deal you will get on that cause today it's still the same damn price. Tells you how just how good the shit is...

Yeah be careful of the sugar

if you juice oranges, there is no pulp to stop you from consuming so much at one time.

Pulp is there to stop you from OD'ing

That concentrated stuff...... know what they say, too much of any thing is good for nothing

I'm in the same bucket as OP, spend the money up front for a high powered blender instead of a Juicer. One, your losing a lot of the nutrition and fiber when you juice. Two, losing that much pulp, is mo ey down the drain. I was juicing with a $200 juicer and damn that shit was expensive foe the amount of juice it yielded. When a Blendtec or Vitamix you can use less produce and retain more of the nutrients.

I'll third that-havent used my Breville in damn near a year and will probably buy another Bullet before even thinking about using it. Felt like I was 19 again when I first cranked it up, dick was up for a fuckin week

It depends on the type of juicer you use. You should use a low speed, low friction juicer that masticate and you juice will last much longer.

Thanks

Get a breville. The one you need will be $99 on Amazon. I juice a lot of stuff... It is the best one.

You may be talking about a blender and not a juicer if you're talking about smoothies...

 I was thinking about getting one of these, think you might have just sold me. Is the recipe book that comes with it worthwile? Somebody said you can make smoothies with it right?

I went from the Breville Juice Fountain Elite to the Green Star, the Breville oxidizes the juice pretty bad because of its high speed.

Juicers produce too much sugar ...cause it gets rid of the fiber....blenders don t ...they blend the fiber in....

Use a blender

if you hear about any hotel sales in your area...or something simliar...go check em out. they usually sell a lot of things you can use in your kitchen. I got a good commercial juicer ....which was used by a hotel juice bar...for $350 about a year ago. its kinda bulky...but it top notch and sells for over 1 stack in stores.

yeah...you have natural juicers in your mouth....but who has the jaw power/strength to sit there and chew APPROPRIATELY everyday? Take advantage of all your options. Use your teeth, Juicers, etc.

Once fruits and veggies get removed from the vine, trees, roots, etc....they start losing nutrient IMMEDIATELY (this is were freezing and canning becomes beneficial). You'll never get the full benefits of fruits and veggies no matter how you ingest them. thats why you have to eat more; based off your needs.

I own a blendtec blender. I dont juice a lot....but when i do juice......I juice with the blender. I put in some water, what ever i want to juice..blend....pour into a paint strainer....STRAIN the juice out...and viola! I got juice. I use the left overs fibrous material to make veggie cracker etc. Based off my blood work and over all health...my methods seem to be working.

The fiber is right there in the catcher if you want it, and there is no way a juicer will create more sugar than is already in the fruit/veggies.

I own the Blentec Total Blender, a Green Star Elite, and the Breville.
