I only shed tears twice cause of a sporting event. One time was when Phiily lost to Oakland in the superbowl. The other time was when Hearns lost to SRL the first time. I really thought we had that fight.
I remember Manny Steward in tears over it at the post fight press conference.
I truly hated SRL. LOL, he beat my first favorite fighter, Benetiz and it was a wrap. But dude just kept winning. But even though Hearns lost some of his biggest matches. He found himself in the ring with the best. And all you really can do it try. Hearns was my man.
Even though it was in the hands of the judges, you musta really been salty towards SRL after the rematch...that was some bullshit.
Also, who were who rooting for when Hearns fought Benitez for the WBC Super Welterweight crown?
The hitman was a warrior, once he touch you that was the end of that. I still remember some of the knockouts, it wasn't even funny.A true legend in my book.
His 2nd round KO of Duran was something else.
The most brutal KO I've ever seen between 2 elite non-heavyweights.

Julian Jackson-Herol Graham HAS to be on that list somewhere.

Herol Graham was good, but not ever winning a world championship leaves him off the elite list to me. But the British announcer yelling "OH NO!!" when Graham got laid out was![]()

You're right. I didn't see elite, just non-heavyweights. But yeah, i laugh everytime i hear the "OH NO"![]()
